In a very calculative manner too. Putin avoided giving him a hero’s send off. Why terminate the threat whilst he has momentum and the public’s backing? Why give him a warriors death? That would only further solidify the pride that is befitting of the warrior’s ethos.
Instead, he got him to accept a pardon, exile and admit defeat in public shame. Paraded as a puppet for the world to see. And then sent off with massive fireworks on the grand stage(Moscow) he wished to conquer.
