There are certain or many parts in India which are lost in time and stuck in regressive practices. The psychic barrier in those places will shield any modern or progressive influence. 

Great reformers like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Swami Narayan have pushed lot of social reforms to these remote areas and zones to stop the female infanticide and abuse over past 3 centuries and even before. 

But the regressive practices still go on, the human psyche likes to fall back to old tendencies. Prakriti is swaying them up and down! So much reform have been pushed over centuries and still old tendencies take root strongly!!
