Submerged in Cosmic Kingdom

It is very rare to see such brilliant murals from such an early period of Tantrik Buddhism. It's also rare to see artworks so deeply influenced by the artistic style of ancient Kashmir. It boggles my mind that 99% of the treasures from this ancient kingdom were destroyed during China's cultural revolution. And heartbreaking to consider how many of the artworks of nearby Kashmir were destroyed during the partition of India. Such wonders gone forever!

A beautifully-written review of what appears to be a stunning book.

    • Indeed, not a simple loss of artwork but crucially; a way of life.

The Tibetan way of life was very intimately linked to religious insight of its people, who produced it in order to portray their regional level of consciousness.
