Strenuous Labor / Sexual Activity
In June of 2016, when I did some strenuous labor wielding a pickaxe, the result was that every bit of hormone energy was consumed in the body. Physical labor, sexual exertion, breath infusion, even intense emotions and excessive thinking may exhaust the supply of hormone energy in the physical or subtle bodies or both.
Srila Yogeshwarananda requested that I make a note to the effect that strenuous physical labor and sexual activities both could cause the psyche to become completely drained of hormonal energy, especially of the reproductive energy which is generated in the material body.
Both physical labor and sexual activities are sponsored by ancestral influence but it is not easy for the ascetic to figure this. More than likely he or she will consider the motivation to act to be his or her own.
Sexual activity and strenuous labor result in stupor but that is interpreted to be sleep. The stupor is induced just before sleep but it has a dulling power which removes objectivity. The acetic has to transcend the stupor phase to gain insight about this.
The ancestors are pressing on all sides, day and night. They never let up. Wherever the ascetic may go in the material world, he or she will be confronted by them in one way or the other. It requires keen insight to be aware of their all-surrounding influence.

One person asked as to why I did not mention this before about strenuous physical labor being a consumer of the hormonal energy, as to why I only mentioned sexual activity before, especially in reference to ancestral influence.
It is a fact that an entire book, sex you! is devoted to explaining how the ancestral influence is experienced in a covert way as sexual attraction and its resultant complexities. But I did not write a book titled, Strenuous Labor & You.
This is due to the fact that moralists the world over tend to criticize and turn their noses up at any sexual activity which they figure is not regulated in an approved way, which is none traditional, which disrupts the social order, which challenges the format of what is normal and especially which threatens to unsettle the monogamous family.
If a man overworks, nobody will say, “O he is a bastard. Censor that son of a bitch.”
Nobody will say, “He is compulsively involved in hard work. Shame him about it.”
Thus it makes sense not to write about it because it is the non-obvious influence of the ancestors which drives us to do hard work. In fact on occasion it compels us or put us into a situation where we must do it, one way or the other.
And what is the result of hard labor?
Well, what is the result of non-contraceptive sexual intercourse between two fertile adults?
That result we all know is an embryo.
But what is the result of hard labor?
The first result is the building of shelter for the embryo.
Ever seen birds building a nest by industrially hauling twigs through the air to build a shelter for eggs?
