Patanjali Yoga Series - 1: Self Study & Report Card after 3.5 years
15th October, 20224
Houston, Texas
By the grace of the fathers and grandfathers of lineage yogic master, I got kickstarted practice again in this life from March 2021.
It has been roughly 3.5 years now, I would like to present a report card in reference to Patanjali Yoga Sutras progessive 8 stage process.
This yogic practice in Patanjali Yoga Sutras would not have been possible with out the following key masters and several unnamed, known and unknown masters:
- Father: Yogi Madhvacharya
- Grandfathers: Srila Yogeshwarananda, Babaji Mahashaya, Lahiri Baba
- Great Grandfather: Patanjali Maha Muni (whose grace is left in the book itself)
Analysis of the report card:
This is the below report card after 3.5 years, made good progress in certain areas of the 8 stage process and some needs more attention and some were totally ignored.
Samyama (Last 3 stages) needs great improvement and effort, that's where the future effort would be.
Effort and Hint to focus on Smayama and to increase Samadhi (Absorption in transcendental states) time and to reach samadhi as the ultimate aim of the 8 stage process would not have happened without the grace of Srila Yogeshwarananda, the divinity personified.
I was working ardously on Asana and Pranayama and ignoring the higher stages. This realignment back to the higher stages is a sign of grace, alms thrown into the bowl.
Grateful is the alms collector!
If not, I could have wasted years, decades and even lifetimes stuck in lower stages and transmigrating everywhere on every dersire!
Grateful is the alms collector!
