He is totally on point, IMO. So Putin has been playing the long game of imperialism.However, in his autocratic reflex and isolation, his actual war of domination turned into a fk up!He is fighting a modern times war with the mindset and equipment of the old antiquated wars.

One person can carry a Javelin tank destroyer on his shoulder and get to work.A lightweight under-the-radar drone is the new Kamikaze.As he controls the media and information in Russia, Zelensky, an actor turned wartime hero, has galvanized world opinions in the favor of his people and their significance vis-a-vis the survival of democracy and libertarianism.

And unlike previous wars, with these same technologies all his war crimes are exposed to the world, real time via satellite and such, except for those who will not accept this version of reality.

And, ultimately his American counterpart is not in the White House at this time. Even just the other day, the man was, in the middle of all this mayhem  asking the help of Putin, yet once again to get dirt on his opponent’s son (he is still in a race for some reason!).

This marine insightly states that Russia has enabled Putin (of course, as he is stroking the national pride, as all these other autocrats to include Narendra Modi, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Jair Bolsenaro and of course the big elephant in the room, D J Trump).

The speaker also adds that free people want to remain as such. That is true on the surface, and is a more complex notion. Not everyone is totally affiliated to the concept of democracy, many are still deep down harboring more familiarity with the tribal system as was the law of lands we presume to have emerged from. 

So it is normal for many Republicans to have paved the way to Trumpism and to feel compelled to maintain him in power because he is an unapologetic unabashed tribal leader, he does their bidding, he is their knight in shining armor, their savior from social progression of all members of society.

And, certainly Narendra Modi is successful in India, after Hinduism and its gods including lord Krishna contextualized, justified and institutionalized social segregation, albeit for reasons that are not accessible to modern human and their complexities. 

The ones who are favored naturally, if or since not sufficiently advanced will automatically at best  take advantage of others, but they many times may more than ostracize, repress or take them out as enemies. A human society should not have been trusted with the sense to maintain such a highly moralistic stance as indicated in the shastras.

Finally, it is a sliver of people, all things considered, that can value Democracy as a genuine social core value. It is ultimately accepting for others the same sense of liberty and freedom that all individuals appreciate for oneself. That is the expansion that most have not attained. Just as many can appreciate the spirit/soul in humans but not in others.
