Naad / Hearing Sense Located

There are many uses for naad in meditation practice. And yet, it is not easy to determine what to do with naad, regarding how to use it to reach deeper levels of consciousness and access portals to other dimensions. Even persons who have no interest in other dimensions can use naad to advance their meditative objectives but the methods for doing so are mostly unknown. This is due to the fact that when a yogi hears naad, there is a holding power in it which causes him/her not to be interested in doing anything besides hearing naad.

For those who are interested, naad can be used to help to access intellect and/or third eye portal vision into other dimensions, even to the chit akash sky of consciousness. I will describe a method for identifying and leaving aside or using one or more of the self-urges to the senses.

In the coreSelf there is an attention protrusion which can be withdrawn from all interest or applied to some interest. This singular sense is the interest of the core. When it becomes tense, it is experienced as the applied attention of the self. The pratyahar or withdrawal of this interest energy means that when it is withdrawn into the core, it enters with its five expressions and becomes invisible. These five sense urges with the singular interest energy goes into a relaxed condition in the core.

As a total of six senses or expressions, these are listed;

  • interest
  • hearing
  • touching
  • seeing
  • tasting
  • smelling

The first, the interest sense is mandatory and remains inside any other of the five remaining senses which are used. Most of this usage is involuntary and the linking of the interest sense to any other one is connected so rapidly as to be instantaneous.

However as one meditates more and more, and develops the required sensitivity over time, the rapidity is comprehended and one can track the linking and unlinking with ease.

When hearing naad, one should first be sure that one gives full attention to this hearing. This would mean that there is the interest energy in the self in combination with the hearing interest, so that there is a focus awareness whereby there is only these aspects combined

  • coreSelf
  • interest of coreSelf
  • naad sound

One becomes aware of those three aspects and any other interest which is in the mind space but one ceases any attention which goes to other interest. The residual interest which went to other concerns is curtailed and withdrawn. It is placed in the interest of the core as the core focuses on the naad sound.

This will cause one to be aware of one other aspect which is the hearing sense. There will be four aspects only which are:

  • coreSelf
  • interest of coreSelf
  • naad
  • hearing sense which pursues and aggressively contains naad

This state of consciousness should be maintained for a time. There should be no interest, no pursuit of anything else.

After a time, after this state stabilizes and one remains in that condition easily and spontaneously, the yogi should hold that state while considering that there are five senses besides the interest sense, but with the interest sense being mandatory. However, the yogi should note now if the interest sense has any other concerns or if it secretly is involved with another sense besides the hearing sense. If it is discovered that it has another sense in consideration, the yogi should continue to adhere only to the hearing sense as it contains and focuses on naad.

However, if the yogi found that the interest sense has no other concern and is only concerned with the hearing sense and naad, he/she should consider the smelling sense. He/She will know that this sense has no value in this application. He should then consider the tasting sense. This sense will seem to be irrelevant in this type of meditation. He should then consider the seeing sense which is relevant but he should not apply it. He should only note that even though it is not in use, it is useful.

The yogi should consider the touching sense but he should realize that this sense was being used secretly with the hearing sense when listening intently to naad. At this point in the meditation, he should engage the seeing sense so that it focuses forward. This will happen if he switches on that sense. Usually, the seeing sense was closed because it is an interference in most meditations. In this practice he will open that sense forward. This should be done while keeping the naad focus through the listening and touching senses.

Somehow by steadiness he should keep this focus and wait for a portal to open up ahead in the mind space.

    • Great post!

Touching sense and hearing senses are critical!

      1. Touching sense to feel the texture of naad
      2. Hearing senses to feel the frequency variation within naad sound cone or beam.
      3. And seeing sense for naad light and for other similar purposes.
