Light in the Psyche

Light in the Psyche

In a discussion with Yogeshwarananda on the astral level, he said that yogis should rely more on naad internal sound resonance. When this becomes proficient, the yogi should hold this while developing an inside-the-psyche light focus. This is technically called jyoti dhyana, the focus on subjective light.

Yogesh said this:

There is this stubborn idea that one should focus out of the psyche into some other world or dimension but the focus should be internal at first, regardless of the intention to be a cosmic explorer. First things first, we say, because there are certain preliminary steps in a development.

What is internal subjective light?

That question is answered by considering what is internal subjective sound resonance, which is naad.

How does the yogi switch focus to internal subjective sound?

He does that in the same way he would switch to internal subjective light, jyoti.

The habit of pursuing external light in the physical or astral world results in a lack of interest in and a lack of discovery of subjective light. Once the yogi introspects sufficiently, he discovers that there is light in the psyche which is external to the coreSelf even though that light is internal in the psyche. In the container of the psyche, there is light along with psychic adjuncts and the coreSelf.

However, the habit of the coreSelf is to ignore the internal light and pursue vision in other ways, especially to pursue the focusing of sight ability to objects inside or outside the psyche. This habit should cease. The yogi should switch to subjective focus so that subjective vision of light is developed.

Begin this practice by doing naad sound resonance. Once the self is absorbed in naad, it should remain in naad resonance while detecting a glow of light in the mind space.
