Kundalini Zonal Spread
Conventional kundalini rise through the sushumna nadi central passage can be achieved on a daily basis if one practices bhastrika pranayama breath-infusion. The idea is the push the charged energy down the front of the body where it flushes through the front groin area, picking up a charge from the sex organ chakra complex.
Once this is achieved, and provided the charge is sufficient, it will arc across to the muladhar base chakra where kundalini resides. This will cause a spark, exactly like in a spark plug, which will result in kundalini making an attempt to move.
If the yogi has applied ashwini mudra base chakra (anus) lock, and also applied the sex chakra restraining lock at the perineum, then kundalini will find that it cannot express itself downwards. It will try to move up. If however the navel chakra is not contracted, then kundalini will spread through there but it if is contracted, kundalini will go up to see if the chest chakra is available for expression. But if the chest is contracted, then kundalini will keep rising through the neck to find the throat chakra. If the neck lock was applied, then kundalini, provide it has a powerful enough charge, will go into the brain.
This will happen in lightning speed but if the yogi is perceptive, he or she will be able to track these split-second movements.
Upon entering the head, kundalini will act like a serpent which emerges from a dark underground cave and comes into the full sunlight, where the snake is first stunned by the light and then gets its bearings and decides to go in a certain direction.
Kundalini will take a split second to realize itself. Then it will head for the core-self and the intellect. If however kundalini still has a power charge in it, it will go either to the third eye chakra or the crown brahmrandra chakra but that is provided the yogi applied the mind lock before kundalini passed into the head. If the mind lock was not applied, kundalini will burst itself in a spread through the head, and the yogi may lose objectivity and come back into consciousness-focus as soon as kundalini loses the charge of energy, whereby it will rapidly descended down the spine just as quickly as it ascended.
Proficiently in arousing kundalini comes when the ascetic can do it daily. He should use bhastrika or another pranayama breath-infusion practice. It should not be a wait-and-see or visualize-the-energy method. Pranayama is the way to do it definitely. When kundalini is raised through the spine on a daily basis for some time, years even, the sushumna nadi central passage become permanently cleared. This is in contact to a once-in-a-while raising of kundalini into the brain. With the now-and-then arousal of kundalini, the central passage is re-clogged with heavy astral energy. It does not remain in the head except for the little time that kundalini ascends through the neck. It always subsides back to base muladhar chakra. The sushumna central spinal passage becomes blocked again.
Repeated daily practice by an effective pranayama method like what is described in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika of Swatmarama, causes the central passage to be routed so that it remains clear such that kundalini’s energy passed through it continuously.

When the yogi has the central passage cleared, there is experienced cell kundalini arousal, which are zonal or complete subtle body arousals, in contract to spinal and head arousal which is local to those areas only and which does not usually include the entire trunk of the subtle body and its limbs.
Cell kundalini arousal is for causing the entire subtle body to be elevated to the plane of consciousness where the siddhas exist. It frees the yogi from limited association. He can then be with the siddhas even while using a physical body. His subtle body can become transformed so that at death of the physical one, he transits to a higher plane of existence to associate with great yogis and deities.

Cell kundalini comes as an experience of bliss energy with a cool mint feel to it. It occurs in many parts of the subtle body especially in the trunk. Sometimes it is experienced in the limbs; arms, forearms, hands, thigh, legs, feet, jaw bones, the fleshy part of the neck and elsewhere. It is a more neutral type of bliss energy which has a light bluish hue to it as compared to spinal-brain kundalini which usually has a goldish, light-yellowish hue and with an over-powering bliss energy which is more similar to sexual climax experience.

The breath infusion energy distribution is different in spinal-brain arousal than in cell kundalini arousal. While in spinal-brain arousal, the energy goes down the front of the body, flushes through the groin area and arcs across to muladhar chakra, causing kundalini to be aroused, in cell kundalini, the energy goes down through the trunk and picks up hormonal energy. Then it reverses itself to go back upward through the trunk with the acquired energy. It does not route through the spine into the brain. It may not reach the brain. If it does, it goes through the fleshy part of the neck. It may only arouse the kundalini of a set of cells in an organ or tendon. When these zones are aroused through the kundalini of the microcells firing all at once, there is a bliss energy compaction which is experienced by the yogi. The particular area or zone becomes cleared of heavy astral energy. This bliss is a neutral energy which is translucent and clear and may be of a certain hue. The yogi should arrest it and compact it inwards on itself or if there is no inspiration to compact it, he should astutely observe it with insight perception.
