InSelf Yoga ~ Concern for Others
One feature of personality which eat away at yoga process is concern for others. There is this persistent nagging desire to be concerned for others, to seek faults in others, to suggest and plan recommendations to others.
Some students spend most of their mental time, scanning for memories about the business of others, who may or may not be yogis or yoginis. Then they spend untold hours hashing over and forming opinions about the memories of the affairs of others.
This time could be better spent by curbing the hashing-over feature of the mind or by using it to reinforce what is known about yoga and yogis.
A good way to evade self-upliftment is to be concerned about others and to convince the self that this concern is helpful to one and all, while in fact it hurts yoga practice.
