Human Sacrifice / Its Necessity

Was human sacrifice necessary?

 

Why did so many cultures have it, including the Vedic culture which today distances itself from it and tries to disown having it?

 

 

Are we where we are today as being civilized because we evolved through ritual killings of animals and human beings?

      Maybe just trying a short hand for whatever reason.

      I mean the psychological and moral aspects and then the evolution in forms and genes.

      Come to think about it you couldn't have one without the other.
