It is more healthy for human species if there is less discouragement and more scientists!

    • Yes, but he is making an error because children are dependents. They should not be given the idea that they can question or do anything else just as if they were independent adults.

Children are not responsible for themselves. Thus they cannot have full independence in everything they do or inquire about.

Sagan must resent being restricted as a child and being hushed by adults at that time. Too bad for him that he could not grow out of that resentment and took a punch to take revenge on those who restricted him.

What sort of situation would it be if an infant was regarded as an adult all the way, so that when it cried for food, its mother also said, "You are independent. Walk to the kitchen and prepare it."

For all he is as a scientist, Sagan is an emotional idiot. It goes to show that you can excel in science and be the smartest person in the world in that way but your understanding about responsibility and pecking order could be nil.

Even the chickens regulate their juniors, why shouldn't the humans?
