Obama did say the election of Trump was due to the Republican part encouraging or even inviting in some ways.
So Trump so his opportunity to play it along with his knowledge of the American population's weakness for showmanship. But they also exploit him, even as they make it the party of Trump.
Okay, they are human too, but their leader is pretty twisted, to say the least.

He should feel so lucky that Kamala Harris a trailblazing politically and juristically savvy individual opponent will be debating Pence a career politician, and not him Trump a 4th-grade type bully.
