Feelings and the Discrimination in Higher yoga

Pranajogi gave hints today about the importance of keeping the kundalini away from the buddhi, and making sure that the buddhi does not come under the influence of kundalini when kundalini operates on its own.
If we were to consider kundalini to be the impulsive and automatic feelings, then the buddhi intellect organ can be seen as the psychic mental mechanism which always finds itself endorsing and justifying those feelings. This is on-going.
This requires no maintenance, no permission nor exertion of anything. It is not like people say where they claim that you make decisions and therefore you are responsible for what happens around you and especially for those acts which you commit.
The luxury of self-esteem in terms of claiming that a human being makes decisions and is therefore responsible for his or her actions, have no place in the conversation. Sure you are responsible or stated more precisely, sure society will hold you as being responsible but that does not mean that you actually make those decisions in full knowledge of their consequences or that you make those decision with the full deliberation. Most decisions are made for you by your nature, by your conscious and unconscious mental processes combined
Can the feelings, the impulsions in the psyche, not reach the analytical discriminative part of the system? How can these be kept apart? How can the yogi regulate the flow of influence from the impulsions to the discrimination?
Pranajogi said this:
You can do yama social restraints and niyama approved behaviors for one millions years, and you still would not have changed the affinity between the life force kundalini and the critical analysis intellect organ. With social restraints and approved behaviors, you will get partial success only.
How about a direct attack on this?
How about going into the psyche, locating the adjuncts and putting into place some energy which ceases the independence of the kundalini.

"...making sure that the buddhi does not come under the influence of kundalini when kundalini operates on its own."
Did you mean to say .......when buddhi operates on its own?

This should be:
"...making sure that the buddhi does not come under the influence of kundalini when kundalini operates on its own to influence the buddhi without the supervisor hand of the core-self."
=================
The reason for this is that nature endowed the kundalini with an authority over the psyche which puts the core-self in a compromising position so that it has to accept these actions of kundalini and be responsible for them.
This is explained by Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita from a different angle where he said:
==================
कार्यकारणकर्तृत्वे
हेतुः प्रकृतिरुच्यते ।
पुरुषः सुखदुःखानां
भोक्तृत्वे हेतुरुच्यते ॥१३.२१॥
kāryakāraṇakartṛtve
hetuḥ prakṛtirucyate
puruṣaḥ sukhaduḥkhānāṁ
bhoktṛtve heturucyate (13.21)
kāryakāraṇakartṛtve = kārya — created work + kāraṇa — sensual potency as a cause + kartṛtve — agency; hetuḥ — cause; prakṛtiḥ — material nature; ucyate — is said; puruṣaḥ — the spiritual personality; sukhaduḥkhānāṁ — of pleasure and pain; bhoktṛtve — in terms of experiencing; hetuḥ — cause; ucyate — is said
Material nature is said to be the cause in terms of created work, sensual potency and agency. The spiritual personality is said to be the cause in terms of experiencing pleasure and pain. (13.21)
पुरुषः प्रकृतिस्थो हि
भुङ्क्ते प्रकृतिजान्गुणान् ।
कारणं गुणसङ्गोऽस्य
सदसद्योनिजन्मसु ॥१३.२२॥
puruṣaḥ prakṛtistho hi
bhuṅkte prakṛtijānguṇān
kāraṇaṁ guṇasaṅgo'sya
sadasadyonijanmasu (13.22)
puruṣaḥ — spirit; prakṛtistho = prakṛtisthaḥ — situated in material nature; hi — indeed; bhuṅkte — experiencing; prakṛtijān — produced on material nature; guṇān — the modes of material nature; kāraṇaṁ — the source; guṇasaṅgo = guṇasaṅgaḥ — attachment to the influence of material nature; 'sya = asya —of it; sadasadyonijanmasu = sad (sat) — reality + asad (asat) — unrealistic + yoni — birth situations + janmasu — birth
The spirit, being situated in material nature, experiences the modes which were produced by that nature. Attachment to the modes is the cause of the spirit's emergence from realistic and unrealistic birth situations. (13.22)

This might be compared to a kid’s shoplifting and then the parent has to carry the expense of a trial and must pay the fees, even though the parent neither suggested nor supported the action of the kid. But that is the way the law is written.
Kundalini has a way about it, where it influences the buddhi intellect organ to do its biddings, and then the intellect protects kundalini from harassment and analysis by using its (buddhi’s) analytical power to defend and morally support the kundalini.
In that way, the core-self is helpless because it does not have a case against the kundalini, since the kundalini has an expert attorney which defends it at every step.
In the story of Puranjana told by Narada, we see that when Puranjana entered the city of Bhogavatee, the place of excitement, the queen of the city was with the five-hooded serpent which maintained the city.
So Puranjana was curious to know why the beautiful lady was followed by this serpent wherever she went.
Puranjana could not get rid of the serpent and he could not shake the serpent’s influence over the lady, and still Puranjana was so fascinated by the beautiful woman that he married her and settled down in the city.
If you check through the Yoga books you will hardly find any information about kundalini and the senses but Narada proposed to us to investigate to see if kundalini had any connection with the five senses because in the story kundalini has five heads. According to traditional yoga from India, kundalini is not portrayed like that as having five heads or as being the thing which gives the expression of the five senses.
Worse yet, is yoga practice itself in which one has a very difficult time, either proving or disproving to oneself within the mind, if kundalini is the expressive source of the five senses. I can’t prove it to anybody because it is subjective and people will cry, imagination, imagination. But what about proving or disproving it to myself.
Now in the story, Puranjana represented the core-self, the beautiful woman is the intellect (buddhi) and the five hooded serpent is the kundalini. So this means that these two, the buddhi and the kundalini, are in cahoots and their mission is to over-rule the plans of the core-self and to tolerate it at best because they need its energy to properly operate.
An intelligent parasite, and we live with many in our bodies from day to day, will never kill its host but all the same it does not want the host to become independent either.
The kundalini is much more of a threat to the core-self then the buddhi, but since the buddhi comes under the influence of the kundalini, it too is a danger.
Patanjali targeted and singled out the buddhi and so did Lord Krishna in the buddhi-yoga chapter of the Gita, which is chapter two. But when a student makes that effort to control the buddhi, there comes an enlightenment that it cannot be curbed until the influence which the kundalini has over it is broken.

The core-self is in it for the ride of its lives too.
Thanks to kundalini it can accomplish its existence long goal of experiencing itself.
At this point if I didn't find kundalini nearly impossible to subdue I could think of the coexistence facilitated by the interceding of the intelligence as the ultimate symbiosis.

Sounds like a college professor.
How did you get into a yoga class?
I wonder!

hehe! Trying to simmer down a fuzzy grey matter.

Surya, that is a profound statement. It sounds like the core-self married the kundalini and is not yet ready for a divorce!

MiBeloved, that is a great analogy. And, those who can afford it are by all means advised to seek expert counsel in the person of a lawyer, that is our Shri Guruji; even if providence, the top magistrate has the last say.
