Core-Self’s Cowardice

Basically speaking the core-self is a wimp, a power supply in the psyche, which in the majority of circumstances must do as it is compelled to. Actually, as related in the Bhagavad Gita, the material nature, mostly the psychic aspect of it, does everything. Why is the self there in the first place if it has no autonomy to speak of?

This is a very stupid question because there need be no reason for anything to be. Being is spontaneous. That is all we need to know. Reasons have very little significance because they are usually based on our limited angle of vision and on our current needs.

Regardless of how the core-self got involved in this creation, it is paramount that it realizes its predicament. It should research into how to escape this servitude to the psychic adjuncts which whip the self around and rule it with an iron hand. Of course these adjuncts may lubricate the hardship from time to time but over all they do not cushion it enough. The core-self is thin-skinned and balks at every infraction.

Suppose all slaves were released. Supposed those who were imprisoned wrongly were freed? Suppose there was no more injustice and every human being of means was kind to those without sufficient income.

Yes, if these things did happen, then what?

Would I be free of dominance by the psychic adjuncts?

These adjuncts are:

• ·        Thought-manufacturing psychic mechanism in the head of the subtle body
• ·        Memories which burst in the mind and are illustrated there
• ·        Fresh sensual intake which converts into impressions on the mind’s screen
• ·        Urges which arise from the trunk of the subtle body and which collectively are called kundalini life force

Any of these may dominate the core-self, that little wimp.

At some stage there will be a show down between the self and its adjuncts, a shootout, with the core-self being the loser, being hurt terribly, begging for mercy from one or all of the adjuncts.

Has this happened to you already?

After losing repeatedly in the bid to control the adjuncts, the core-self should begin winning some battles, pushing back against the hypnotic influence of these controlling faculties.
