Chac Mool dream

Vivid dream I had this morning:An Earthquake starts when I am in a palacious building that is in the middle of a city. I am with another person, not sure who this person is. We look outside and see the streets quickly flooding with rapid rivers of water. Thinking its safer to be high in the building, we decide to stay there and go up in the building.
One area we come upon is outdoors where beautiful white, very powdery sand fills a balconied area and we are distracted temporarily from the earthquake as we sink our feet into the luxuriant sand and explore walking through it. But we see that puddle areas are beginning to form in the fine white sand and that the puddles are steaming turn into geisers of hot water that begin spewing because of the earthquake. So we go higher up in the building to the top for safety.
There at the top is a lighted room that is an area of yogis, another part has Christians having mass, and room with an enormous Chac Mool figure in it is at the very top. I sit by some wise, prayerful women just outside the Chac Mool room. They are serious in their composure, older and wiser than me.
So then building really starts to quake and collapses hugely. I see the room of the Chac Mool shift to rise up way above us and then our floor is sliding and sinking below it as the whole building structure begins to go and I know this is the end of our lives in this dimension. I cling close the these wise ladies as this terrific event ends our lives. It is magnificent to see the mighty Chac Mool above, move and start sliding above us and down towards us.
The effect of the dream has with me all of this day. My yoga practice is fairly steady at 2:30 or 3 am. Ek Ong Kar chant about 30 minutes and meditation.

Similar to what you will go through at the time of your physical body’s death, where you will have a conception and the astral energy will try to fit into that but it will have to demolish that mental construction and give you astral reality for an experience, which will be somewhat different to what you formulated as what it should be, based on your present earth life view.
Getting this snap shot now is valuable if you can get yourself ready for the astral reality and move yourself away from conceptions of what it should be.
It is a regular mistake of many students. Some people have this idea of a spiritual world or a world where their selected God or deity resides, which they feel is located here or there in reference to this physical reality according to what they read in books or heard from a guru. Some others have this idea of subtle worlds based on using this physical reality as the reference. And they are yet others with other views. Like for instance some people I speak to have an idea that after death, there will be nothing in existence for them, or that they will be in a liberated state where they will not have to deal with the frustrations and disappointments which they had to content with on earth.
There are so many of these ideas running rampant in the mind of students. Sometimes a student takes up an argument with me, when the said student becomes disappointment or doubtful because I do not affirm an opinion about how the hereafter is constructed or should be constructed according to his or her view.
However the thing to do is to be honest with yourself and know what you feel it should be. Then set out like a scientist with a scientific attitude to see exactly what it is and not be afraid to laugh at yourself at how stupid you were for constructing an idea which is not confirmed by reality.
When the Europeans set out find India, they had some idea of the coastline of Africa because some of them had already explored it but the rest of the world was unknown to them. Some sailors felt that if they ventured too far west through the Atlantic, they would fall off the earth into who knows what. Others who felt the earth was flat though they might go west and never be able to return because they depended on wind power and if there was no east breeze, then there would be no way to get back to Europe.
But out of that exploration, the navigators, were able to map the globe in the way we know it now, because they were either willing or they were circumstantially force to change their view to the reality of a round earth, which Magellan was the first one to prove through his expedition. He did not survive the voyage but some of his sailors did return to Europe after circumambulating.
Now that is done much quicker by aircraft moving at 500 miles an hour and satellites moving much faster.
In the same way, despite that fact that we have our favorite ideas about what is hereafter and about whom we will be with at that time, still we should be open-minded and open ourselves to astral reality so that we can make that leap from what we want the hereafter to be, to what it really is.
Columbus wanted India to be to the West within a short distance but the reality was quite different and fortunately for us he recorded what happen even though it was not what he initially figured it should be.
!~~~~~~~!
The astral dimensions are much trickier in the sense that they will mirror your ideas about what the hereafter should be but it will also demolish that as in the building in your dream which was affected by the earthquake. Be scientific and just laugh at yourself when you find that the reality hereafter is different to your favorite conception of what it should be.
Astral is very shifty. It may be this at this moment and something other than at the next moment. Whole dimensions can suddenly disappear. A person who has certain religious beliefs might not find anything similar to his or her idea about the heaven of his deity after death. Or he might suddenly find himself in that place and then find that it was an astral illusion which manifested based on his mentality but which has no substantiality in fact.
Therefore it is important that we have a scientific attitude and shed our fantasies so that we can actually face up to whatever is there as the astral life at the time of our being permanently shoved out of the astral body.
In this respect your Yogi Bhajan training might prove to be useful. They use the mantra Sat Nam, which means that reality is whatever is true (sat). Reality is not what I want reality to be. It is not what my teacher says that it is. It is whatever I will find to be the reality at the time when I am shoved out of the physical body.
We have this terrible arrogance where we convert information from books and from teachers into a mental mock-up. With this we badger others and terrorize ourselves into thinking that whatever we construct mentally is going to happen no matter what. Somehow we need to unfreeze ourselves from this habits and be open-minded, so that whatever will be does not shock up or cause us to be disappointed and depressed.
If to my senses, the world is flat and I discover that it is just not flat, that I must distrust my sensual conclusion about it, then I should be happy about that because it not being flat is great discovery.
