Eventually nature will fry the planet and make it unhabitable for humans but in the mean time we could accelerate that situation
In the collective unconscious, we may develop some instinct so that in some other cosmos, we avoid curtailing this type of opportunity

Indeed, it is what it is ... And perhaps it is time to sober up for more relatively conscious ones and at least begin the process of internal disassociation from this train of life and envision the pending bodiless state befalling all sooner or later.

In that other cosmos, the hope would have to be that the spiritual dimension stands a better chance over the instinctual basal nature of the relatively so-called evolved creature category.
At the inception of it, and in order for nature itself to maintain it's own agenda of advancement, destruction and reconstruction seem inevitable, and a matter of cycle; as you indicate either precipitated by the sentient embodied or nature herself.
So the end must always be part of the equation of sobriety! And the question might just be to develop an attitude of acceptance and reconciliation with the demise of the gross physical lifestyle.
And, while that sounds dystopian and too negative a perspective (or even suicidal to some) it should be part of the overall calculation in introspection towards sensorial sobriety.
