Hence if the core-self feels that it will enlists the cooperation of the senses to attain a neutral state of mind, that self will never be successful in introspective meditation.

The sense interpret neutral states as boredom. They use such states as the motivation to acquire a variety of sensual intakes, regardless of if these damage the meditation practice. The core-self should understand this posture of the senses and should push on without the cooperation of the senses and with the depression which the senses exhibit when they are confronted with a neutral circumstance.

Usually the core-self bends to the sway of the senses and pursues various sensual means of satisfaction even when such participation ruins meditation practice and causes setbacks in the progress.

It is also a fact that yoga friends may compromise one another by giving in to sense gratification which is detrimental to practice. When everyone in the group does it, the individual guilt felt is lessened or disappears altogether and everyone feels happy about the indulgence despite that fact that it compromises the practice.

Those students who have the necessary resistance to the negative association of their yoga friends, will forge ahead but the real position is not social. It is psychological where the core-self must forge ahead alone without the cooperation of the senses, kundalini lifeforce and intellect.

The real loneliness has nothing to do with the lack physical or even astral companions. It is the loneliness of the core-self in relation to the psychic components in the psyche. The core-self must go it alone without cooperation from the psychic adjuncts like the senses, the kundalini psychic lifeforce and the intellect. If that self cannot tolerate this lack of cooperation, it will never be successful in the meditation practice.... Read more

Srimad Bhagavatham Series-1: Bare Translation of 11.5.32

https://inselfyoga.com/view-discussion/srimad-bhagavatham-series-1-bare

https://inselfyoga.com/view-discussion/srimad-bhagavatham-series-1-bare

December 27, 2023
Houston, Texas

Background:

I was showing the city around to the relatives who visited me. I took them to a few places in the city like museums and temples to get a feel of the city.

When I took them to the ISKCON temple in Houston, there was a wall mural that depicted some of the life incidents of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. And it was mentioned below the mural that Chaitanya is the Kali Yuga incarnation of Krishna Godhead as prophesized in Shrimad Bhagavatam 11.5.32.

Then, my relatives kept asking me about this verse 11.5.32, they were just curious about what that verse says. As coming from the south of India, they are exposed to Vaishnava authorities like Ramanuja and Raghavendra of the Madhvacharya lineage. They hardly have any exposure to Chaitanya or Gaudiya math of Vaishnavism which is strong in East India like Bengal, and Orissa.

This led me to look into the Sanskrit verse of Shrimad Bhagavatam and compare the interpretation and translation of Gaudiya Math teachers like BhaktiVedanta.

Sanskrit Research:

Here is the comparison of my bare translation of Sanskrit of 11.5.32 without any interjection of opinions or preaching lines.

Michael asked me to make a post on how this was done. So here is a brief explaination on how the translation was done.
The transliteration of Sanskrit verses to Kannada verses was done using the tool below:
Sanskrit verse: अथ योगानुशासनम्॥१॥
Kannada verse: ಅಥ ಯೋಗಾನುಶಾಸನಮ್ ॥೧॥
https://www.ashtangayoga.info/philosophy/sanskrit-and-devanagari/transliteration-tool
For the meaning of the split Sanskrit words as below:
atha – now; yogānuśāsanam = yoga – yoga and its practice + ānuśāsanam – explanation
I used the Sanskrit to Kannada dictionary to get the meanings right. For the words which were not found in the above dictionary I used the Sanskrit to English dictionary and English thesaurus to check and verify the meanings given by Michael and then translated them to Kannada.
For the Verses below:
This is the explanation of yoga and its practice.
I used the following websites which gives the meaning of the verses by several authors sequentially to understand it thoroughly.

Meaning of Lalāṭa:
Lalāṭa is a Sanskrit word, the following definition is taken from sanskritdictionary.com
lalāṭa ललाट, Definition: n. (later form of rarāṭa- q.v) the forehead, brow, etc. ( lalāṭe ṭe- ind. on the forehead, in front; the destiny of every individual is believed by the Hindus to be written by brahmā- on his forehead on the 6th day after birth)
Location & Behaviour of Lalāṭa Chakra:
I observed the lalāṭa Chakra at the midpoint of the forehead and that's how it derives the name from Snaskrit. Some people observe it as the crest of the forehead, in my case, it was at the midpoint.
Lalāṭa Chakra is not the third eye chakra. It is very easy to confuse between 2 chakras as they are located closeby but the stark difference between tow is: Lalāṭa Chakra acts as an idea, thoughts manufacturing psychic organ and third eye chakra acts like a portal or telescope to view other dimensions.
Even now as I type the lalāṭa chakra keeps spinning in a moderate speed, and I have to pull back once in a while to finish the article in hand. Both Kundalini provokes the lalāṭa chakra and lalāṭa chakra itself inherently possesses such a random untamed distractive energy. All yogic methods converge at some point in taming this orb directly or indirectly.
Lalāṭa Chakra’s has certain objectivity and attention on its own independent of atma but still, Lalāṭa Chakra (Extension of buddhi/ intellect organ) compulsively and involuntarily sucks out extraordinary attention energy from Atma to power all its pursuits and random behavior., which becomes difficult for Atma to tame.

the Lalāṭa Chakra’s Spinning Light Cone appears like a Light house’s rotating flash of light except that Lalāṭa Chakra can rotate in all planes in random speeds.

This is the modelling and devising of a General Theory of Mento-Emotional Energy-Plane (Chitta)

Chitta is used in Patanjali Yoga Sutras, Bhagvad, Uddhava Gita and also in Buddhist Suttas by Buddha & other Arahants.
Chitta is defined as mento-emotional energy by Madhva in his books.
In the same line, I am extending the Chitta from mento-emotional energy to mento-emotional energy-plane.
Madhva has already employed the mento-emotional plane in his writings, I am using plane-geometry theory to describe distortions of Fabric of Chitta due to Adjunct's weight.

Chitta or mento-emotional energy-plane will be used interchangeably in this writing.
Direct Influences are from:

Einstein's General Theory of Relativity (Basically Geometry theory in (3 (space) + 1(time)) 4 Dimensions)

A new way to visualize General Relativity

Chitta Vritti Nirodhah (Patanjali Yoga Sutras, 2nd verse)

Cessation of Fluctuations or distortions of Mento-emotional energy-plane
To stop the fluctuations or distortions, one has to first map the distortions in 3D Chitta space.

Area of Study:

Fabric of Chitta

Apart from understanding the interaction of Adjuncts, my goal is to understand the weight of adjunct on the fabric of chitta and how that influences the Chitta
In general theory of relativity, weight of earth cause a distortion in fabric of space-time which in return causes gravity, essentially gravity is the product of the fabric distortion. (Gravity is considered force as per Newton theory, but Einstein corrected the error in that Newton theory and called Gravity, a distortion of space-time fabric)
From my instincts and practice, Bare Chitta (without adjuncts) in essence has 3 aspects:

Space
Energy
Time (chitta fabric changes with time domain per dimension... Read more

Memory in the Next Body

https://inselfyoga.com/view-discussion/memory-in-the-next-body

https://inselfyoga.com/view-discussion/memory-in-the-next-body

Memory of this life in the next body will, more than likely, not be there. Why? Because the next body will be created without a memory chamber which supports information from the previous life.
Some yogis, a few, can access memory from one or more past lives but they do so by breaching sealed memory chambers in the subtle body. These chambers are in the subconscious area of the subtle body. Presently we have a surface and a storage memory for most of what happens in this life, but those compartments are dual, being physical and subtle. The physical ones will be lost once the body dies. The subtle ones will be accessible for a time and then will not be available except by special mystic access.
I was in a discussion with a deceased man whom I knew some forty plus years ago. He wanted to know if he would retain memory of his past physical life once he becomes an embryo and is born again through parents on the physical side. I told him that the process of rebirth does not include coherent access to the memory from the past life. This memory is sealed in the subtle body. Its presence there is inaccessible. What is available is the instinct one developed in the past life. That instinct is an impulsive format which arises as particular types of behavior based on predispositions.
The course of rebirth is such that in the hereafter, immediately after the death of the physical body, one has some memory of the physical life. Even though the memory circuits in the brain were destroyed by cell disintegration, still the subtle body carries with its many memories. But as soon as the person is attracted into the subtle body of one of the parents, the access to those memories is disabled, so that there is no memory. This is a thorough inaccessibility. It is so complete that at birth, the person has no recall of what happened previously. It is as if he/she is a new person with no history except the one which will be created after the birth of the his/her embryo body.
We read how... Read more

Dance of Kundalini - 28: Simultaneous Top & Bottom- Flowerpot Cracker Spray Kundalini from Base Chakra (Rarest)

https://inselfyoga.com/view-discussion/dance-of-kundalini-28-simultaneous-top

https://inselfyoga.com/view-discussion/dance-of-kundalini-28-simultaneous-top

October 15, 2022
10-11 pm, Houston, Texas
This is a very rare type of trunk Spray Kundalini.
Previously, I have written about several Spray and Trunk Kundalini (as listed below), but this is rarest and different from all of them.

Trunk Kundalini

Trunk Spray or bubble (from bottom to top, reverse Rain)
Reverse Rain or reverse waterfall Trunk Kundalini
Base Chakra Explosion (Single/ multiple Explosion) Trunk Kundalini

I thought this type of kundalini usually happens at the beginning of the trunk Kundalini but this one was advanced than I thought of before. Base Chakra sprayed like a flower pot both upwards and downwards.
This just happened haphazardly while trying to do triggering other kundalinis.
October 24, 2022 (Monday) was Diwali (the Indian festival o flights) when Indians burst crackers and celbrate. I haven't celebrated for over 12-13 years now, as I have been away from home. This time, it looks like Diwali came 10 days before in the form of a kundalini!

Main Features:

This lasted for 3-4 minutes, the feel was exactly like that of flower pot crackers (see pictures) where the crackers burst elegantly in the form of continuous fountain spray.
The base chakra got ignited in Flowerpot cracker fashion, the flames were sprayed from the base chakra and sprayed both upwards and downwards at the same time. 2 base chakra flower pot crackers both up and down!
The base chakra was throwing the fired-up flower pot cracker on the chest, abdomen, back, and also in thighs, and ankles, it burnt exactly like crackling crackers, and it emitted sound when it hit the skin.

Flower Pot Cracker: (Common and most loved cracker in India, fired during the Diwali festival,)

Guru Nandhi Natha Devar preached and taught the Nine Veda Agamas (Vedic traditions) that Lord Shiva first taught to Parvathi and then to Nandhi Devar (The divine bull, guardian of Lord Shiva). The great Siddha Nandi Natha blessed his disciple, Sundarar Nathar, and instructed him to undertake the arduous journey to the South of India, to spread Shaiva Siddhanta (attaining liberation through the grace of Lord Shiva) Having achieved the eight siddhis (spiritual powers) and perfect enlightenment at the feet of his Nath guru Maharishi Nandinatha, Rishi Sundara Nathar later became known as Rishi Tirumoolar. He joined the venerable Nath lineage and became one of its most celebrated yogis. Of his gratitude to his guru Nandi he wrote in Tirumantiram:By Nandi’s grace, master I became; By Nandi’s grace, I sought Mular; What can happen without Nandi’s grace?I remained, seeking to expound Nandi’s path. By the grace of Nandi, I sought Mular; By the grace of Nandi, I became Sadasiva; By the grace of Nandi, I became united with supreme wisdom; What I am is by the grace of Nandi.Following his initiation, Sundara Nathar was sent by Maharishi Nandinatha to revive Saiva Siddhanta in the South of Bharat (India). Taking leave of Nandinatha and his brother monks, Sundara Nathar began his life’s mission, to bring the true knowledge of the Agamas (manuals for worship, rituals) and Vedas to the southern parts of India in the Tamil language. It was a long and arduous journey in those days, thousands of kilometers by foot on simple roads and paths. I'd like to briefly share a couple excerpts which may clarify what mind, knowing, really are. I've tried to comment on this in previous posts but when I came across the following, I figured there could be no more confusion. The Rinpoche clearly states how one gets from non-dual consciousness to duality. He puts to rest the idea that there is a knower behind the whole process.
This still may not satisfiy those who firmly hold to the view of being a person with a sense of identity which is permanent. However, I'll share it from someone who is said to be a reincarnate lama in the Dzogchen lineage. At least you won't have to rely on my delivery of these ideas.

In his book Carefree Dignity, Tsoknyi Rinpoche defines the word 'mind' as follows:
I would now like to define the word 'mind.' The Tibetan word is sem. Basically it means that which knows, that which thinks that things are "nice" or "not nice." Because there is some sense of knowing, there is some identity, some property of that which knows. Exactly what is it, how is it? In essence, it is your innate nature, which is all-pervasive, ever-present.
Most important is to remember we don't have to think of mind as a concrete 'thing.' It's really more a quality of knowing --- of knowing and thinking. This word 'mind' is going to be used a lot, but please remember every time you hear or read it that it simply means some act of knowing or thinking. It's really pretty simple. Knowing, just that.

Later on he says... Read more

Prana Series-2: Prana Vision→ Its importance & method !

https://inselfyoga.com/view-discussion/prana-series-2-prana-vision-its

https://inselfyoga.com/view-discussion/prana-series-2-prana-vision-its

Prana is a Sanskrit word (प्राण, prāṇa) which means subtle breath energy.
Other meanings like vital force, breath, and respiration are used based on various contexts, but here the word "prana" will be used as subtle breath energy.

Prāṇāyāma is a (Devanagari: प्राणायाम prāṇāyāma) is a Sanskrit compound word.
Here, pranayama is used as Control of subtle breath Energy. [prāṇa- subtle breath energy + āyāma- control]

The importance of Prana & Pranayama:

Prana is the only raw material used for Pranayama. (Grade of Prana & Sun energy content is critical)
Pranayama is the critical tool in increasing the subtle body frequency to a higher level from earth dimensions to escape from lower earth-bound thought energies.
Pranayama is part of eight limbed PAtanjali System.

It is the 4/8 of Patanjali 8 step Yogic System (4th step out of 8 steps)
Pranayama is the critical step to reach the final stage 8/8 which is Samadhi (Transcendence)

What is Prana vision?

Prana vision is a real-time psychic vision tool within the subtle body to see the distribution of prana or compressed breath energy across the subtle body from the atma's (Core-self) location or from the prana field/distribution.
Prana field sensing Prana Field itself, this is Prana VIsion!

Importance of Prana Vision in the Pranayama process?

Better equipped in reaching transcendence absorption (samadhi)

If Prana is not uniformly distributed throughout the body, then only certain portions of the body will be vibrating with higher frequency and others at a still lower earth-bound frequency

This could hinder the subtle body from reaching the higher freqeuncy by hurling earth-bound thoughts into the mind and then the result is failed or partial accomplishment of transcendence (samadhi).

Distributing Prana:

Prana Vision gives the real times data on the distribution of the prana in the body in form of field

From that data, the practitioner can use mystic willpower or fo... Read more
