  • NOTHING IS FREE in the material world. For the time being, something appears to be free but in the long haul everything has to be paid for if one is in the vicinity where the energy of the initial act was performed. This is enforced by material nature which does not care anything about promises or selfless acts. The actor can give away his or her returns when nature feeds them up but the returns will come, both the desirable and undesirable ones.I usually try to help the ancestors because it is foolish to stand in their way. Somewhere in the Srimad Bhagavatam, Shuka the son of the writer of the book, said that the dead are more powerful than the living. Considering that it is best to cooperate with the dead if one can, because their supernatural reach could very well become the cause of one's undoing. For yogis however, the best thing to do is to not been seen or recognized or even be remembered, because as soon as one registers presence, one has to act in one way or the other, to support this one or that one, which results in the happiness of this one and the distress of this other one. Absence from the premises, if one can achieve that, is the best action.
