Comment to 'Buddhi Yoga-1: Synchronous Spinning of Intellect Orb & Subtle body'
  • The approach I use to identify states of consciousness and psychic objects seen, is to cease all imagination during meditation sessions and to note as a neutral non-anxious observer, whatever happens.

I record the events in writing just as the session. If there is no clarity as to what plane of consciousness or as to which psychic object was seen, I simply leave my mind open for clarification in the future.

I do not inquire about it or I rarely do so. This is because my experience is that advanced yogis do not like students who are always questioning on and on and on. It is important to be confident that if a yogaGuru feels that one should know something, he/she will state it.

Astral gurus who do not have physical bodies stay away from badgering students who pester for answers to many questions. This means that if one has an inquiring tendency, those persons may stay clear so that one cannot contact them. The importance is this: What does an advanced ascetic have to say to me. The lack of importance is this: What do I wish to say to an advanced ascetic.

After making notes for say a year or more, the student should review those notes to see if anything is coherent and if anything can be identified which could not be figured when it first occurred as an event in meditation.

This brings up the issue of patience. This path is not for the impatient demanding person. The path itself (forget the teachers), the path itself demands patience and yields itself to those who are patience with it.

Each student is like an explorer like a Columbus or Magellan. Each student must endure hardships and errors. There is no way around that.

    • True. "Anything done in Rajas will lead to mishap".

The some serious side effects of using Rajo Guna to drive the practice will transfer anxiety, curiosity, questioning, and fear of missing out from one domain to another domain.

On certain days when feeling tired, I used excessive rajo to push myself to do the yogic practice and I derived mixed results from it.

      Both good and bad.

      Good Effects:

      1. Incremental improvements at physical, mental, and spiritual levels.
      2. Prakriti has let you do one more day of practice and you did not waste it

      Bad Effects:

      1. Fear of missing out practice to drive practice every day will increase the urge to be over vigilante.
        1. Fear of Missing Out  → Over-Vigilant → Over Investigation → Over thinking→ Confused state → Anxiety
      2. Started with a Higher grade of Rajo but ultimately ended with lower Rajo-Tamo Results
      3. "Anything done in Rajas will lead to mishap", This proves from time to time correct.

Rajo guna that was used for other external objects now is redirected to Yogic practice, it brought in all passionate energy to the Yogic process too.

Passion (Rajo), Impulsive and Mental rewards system redirected from

      1. Earlier Intellectual pursuits
      2. Earlier Material Pursuits
      3. Earlier Socio-Cultural pursuits

are now redirected to Yogic Pursuits. The yogic pursuits are taking the burnt of this mixed energy.

Since all pursuit doors are closed, the yogic pursuits get a mixed bag of energy and get burns too.

Many times side effects can be so dominant that they destroy all the main effects.

Each door at a time has to be carefully closed, all doors shut at once can make the system confused.

Careful regulation of energy is needed.

How to find the optimal energy grade and quality? The Right Balance?

By Trial & Error: Only by hitting the High and Low, you can find the right balance of the system from time to time. Then, you run the operations at those optimal energy levels.

The right balance can change every day or every week or every year based on several external factors.

It's like an Active Noise Filter, which dynamically filters the noise every second. One-time filtering will not help.
