There are several spiritual levels of formlessness, which means that one experiences oneself to be without a distinct form and without anything which is threatened. In comparison, right now we are aware of each other as material bodies or as subtle bodies, which have distinct forms and limits. That is in stark contrast to the experience you had where you have perception or focus but have no clear cut edge, skin or membrane with which to judge your extents. Some yogis who have such experiences conclude that they reached a state without limit, a state of infinity. Actually it is not that. It is merely a spiritual existential place in which your varied sense detection is suspended or is irrelevant because of the lack of form variety and distinction which exists elsewhere. Some yogis enter such states and remain there for millions of years. These are free from the hassles of material existence and also from the trying circumstances and dimensional shifts which one might be subjected to on the subtle planes. The question to ask yourself is if you would be satisfied being in that state for millions of years?
