Comment to 'Buddhi Intellect Organ'
  • As far as inSelf declaring the intellect as an organ, it would be great if you could distinguish how one may actually locate and see the organ in meditation and give a reliable technique to separate from it.

    Mi~Beloved’s Response

The intellect is an organ but it is an invisible psychic organ which is seen only on rare occasions in meditation and only spontaneously and not by command. It is rare for anyone to see this organ because one has to be on a supernatural level of consciousness to perceive it.

It can be located by locating its activity. Wherever thoughts, images and ideas arise in the mind space, that itself is the location of the intellect which is the invisible psychic adjunct or tool which produces such thoughts.

As for a reliable technique to separate from it, that is not easy to answer because that varies from person to person. the ultimate method is to starve the intellect of the coreSelf’s attention. This is easier said than done because the core is addicted to the displays of the intellect and is inclined to indulge itself in being curious about these shenanigans.

I have one method which I use currently which is to cease any interest of the core towards the intellect. However, there is more to it than that which is that the intellect collects a small energy charge from each idea which arises in it, and that charge is enough to initiate an idea even if the core has effectively cut off interest. This means that the intellect can start an idea but it cannot continue that idea for long if the core does not subscribe some interest.

The ascetic should know this and not be alarmed if in meditation he/she discovers that the intellect has independence and can initiate ideas even when they are not desired by the coreSelf.

Each idea energy in the psyche is stored with a charge of energy for initiation of a display in the intellect. Hence even if the core is not interested, it might be harassed with start-up ideas but if it does not express curiosity or if it resists the temptation to indulge, the ideas will fizz out as soon as they arise or as soon as they are about to be displayed in the mind. This is like when a bulb has a bad filament and it begins to be lit when the switch is thrown but it fizzes out and does not illuminate.

This is not intended to be a trivial or an intimidating question.  If I am wrong, please correct me, but I feel you equate the analytical orb with the intellect and that these are generally called the buddhi intellect organ or the buddhi analytical orb or organ.

    Mi~Beloved’s Response:

Analytical orb, intellect, imagination faculty are all the same except that these indicate specific functions of the intellect because it can create ideas, it can illustrate ideas, it can display thoughts coming from others, it can send thoughts to others, it can visualize ideas, it can display memories, it can calculate ideas, it can mix and display a combination of these. it is a graphic arts software, to use digital terminology.

If this is so, then I can safely say that I saw this organ twice about 10 years ago.  After I saw it the first time, I kept thinking for a couple of days in amazement: “I am not the mind! I am not my thinking!”  The organ itself was energy moving swiftly round and round in a funnel shape.  Little odd shaped objects kept popping out the top one at a time and each one register as a specific thought when it popped up-----so I guess they could be called thought forms.    The second time I saw it I was right in the intellect organ itself and did not see it as a funnel.  Looking from the inside, I did not get the external perspective of it.  This time, I was peering down at the place where thought forms were about to emerge.  The texture in there was cloudlike and a little mound would start to arise and I could stop it right there or let it emerge as a thought.  These were unforgettable experiences which have not been repeated.  They have, however, been good reference material in terms of understanding the mind.

    MiBeloved’s Remark

Those were experiences of the intellect psychic organ but since they were spontaneous, we cannot expect that they will be repeated. Their importance is location, as to where they occurred, because that is the location of this invisible organ. It has a default location and it remains there usually. Thus any activity seen there is in a sense vision of the organ.
