Yoga ~ Lovers Together

inSelf Yoga™ is problematic for many students because of the loneliness of practice. Students are lambasted harshly by teachers of this practice, if such students failed to maintain introspective internalization. The truth is that for many students this going inside causes boredom, lack of pleasure, depressed moods and other undesirable states which as far as they are concerned should not be a part of any spiritual practice.

One way out of this is to find some lover’s way when doing this yoga, whereby the emotions of romance which one hankers for comes into play. That would give one some fulfilment and would be a self-encouragement.

An example is when trying to follow the advice of Patanjali Mahamuni where he says that for yoga one has to shut down the five mento-emotional operations of the mind. But if one does this, it may result in a dismal bare-rock state of mind which is discouraging to the psyche overall.

Thus what one could do is to find a loving refuge for the core-self while dong that practice suggested by Patanjali. This would allow that the self gets some pleasure while doing that and does not become dismayed by a depressed or neutral state.

For example, if the self could get into a romance with the naad sound resonance, that relationship would be cultivated, so that the need for pleasure and partnership is derived from it. Then when the core-self splits off from the buddhi intellect to satisfy Patanjali’s requirement, the self will not be lonely because it had to leave aside the intellect which was once the self’s lover.

More than likely if the self does what Patanjali suggest, then the intellect will turn a sour face to the self. That will cause despondency. But if the self cultivates a relationship in romance with the naad sound resonance, then the intellect’s sour attitude may not affect the self, and it could complete the rest of the meditation austerities.

Yes, lovers together, somehow or the other, so as to succeed!
