Vaishnava Information

In some cases, a devotee has to do his own research into topics which trip him up, where he has doubts about something, and where others are unwilling to help him to resolve those doubts once and for all.

One should it as a matter of self interest to check things carefully and should not expect that another devotee, even an advanced one will do all the hard work to clear up doubts.

Take the case of the information about Krishna and the girlfriend gopis (not the child gopis, or mother gopis or elderly gopis, where an authority in India gives information that we do not find in the Bhagavatam. One should know where the new information comes from, as to which Acharya introduced it.

Some advanced Vaishnava may not be interested in researching this but if in one’s case one has a strong interest in this, then one should in self interest research it. Fortunately, nowadays due to books, one may trace to find who introduced the idea and then one can make up one’s mind about it.

For instance, the book at the link below shows commentaries with the name of the Acharya who introduced certain ideas. In this way one can trace it to one’s satisfaction and not have to bother another person to do this for one, especially since it would be in one’s interest to know the sources.

One can see how little adjustments were made and how in time, one got certain correct or incorrect information handed to one today by some new voice for Krishna Consciousness.

See this book where one can read some of the information with the names of the particular Acharya.
