The Repeat of Existence

For yogis, a serious consideration is the lure of desire. It is a lure only. It does not reveal it accompanying mandatory features, some of which are beneficial, and some which are unwanted. Desire comes as a package but much of it is sealed until one agrees to take the entire possibility. A yogi cannot know every detail of what is with the desire, which he/she buys into or accepts, because of its agreeable feature.

Many desires which are sniffed in this life, form as full-blown obligations in some other life, when Nature sets up a relationship with someone else. At that time the rest of the package of what was slightly and favorably sensed in a previous life, is revealed, but in such a way that one cannot sidestep it.

Would you rather be a donkey which is owned and properly fed?

Or one which has no owner and which roams freely?

When one silently agrees to be in a love affair with someone, even if that relationship does not develop in this life, it will develop in some other life. That will happen when fate creates circumstances in which it is manifested.

At that time, one would be like a wild donkey which was harnessed as a draught animal. One would be amply fed but as it is with human masters, the animals must do some service. As a donkey one would pull a cart which would be loaded. One would be required to pull a plough through a field. On the brighter side, one would be provided with grass, grain, and molasses. One would not have to forage over rough terrain to snip grass or to get water from a stream.

But is it worth it? Each yogi must decide.
