Termination of Eating

A yogi should develop a diet schedule which is constant from day to day, except for exceptional occasions when it is necessary to honor circumstances which require eating at other time.

The main part of this is a daily time when the last meal is taken, where after that for that day, one eats no solid food. One may take water, or a beverage or milk, but not any solid foodstuff after the time for the last meal for that day.

If this develops, a yogi will find that there is a signal energy in the psyche which gives a somewhat silent alert that one should not put solid food into the mouth. With this there will be a slight encouragement to break this regulation. This will feel as if it is permissible to eat again and that there is no necessity for ceasing meals at a certain time.

When a yogi makes progress with this, it will help him/her to develop resistance to physical eating, so that hereafter the tendency for rebirth just to have a physical body to eat physical foodstuff will be removed from the psyche. The need for sex and the need for physical food are two of the many impediments which may prevent a yogi from being satisfied with subtle existence hereafter. Hence their regulation and control are necessary for yogis.
