Spiritual Advancement Sharing
There is this idea that I constantly am confronted with, which is that students want to share the spiritual advancement process with their relatives, friends, disciples, admirers and others. Most of these desires are totally impractical but for some reason, this happens repeatedly.
If I try to teach an individual, he or she, instead of adhering to the instructions for the self, tries to spread it around to others, and also tries to get me involved in instructing others, even though my intention might be to help that one student only and no one else.
Imagine if you create an antidote for a diseased condition but it must be taken in a particular dose in a particular concentration. Then when you reach the patient and make efforts to administer the medication, the patient objects, calls every relative, friend and acquaintance and ask that the item be diluted so that everyone called could have some of it. This is nice for the idea of compassion to others but it makes for inadequate application of the medicine, which will be too diluted to have any effect on the patient or on the persons called. In this sense, such compassion was effective in cause not one single person to be cured of the disease.
There is also this idea among spiritual aspirants, especially those who are hung up with specific organizations, that the whole world could be saved in one lick, by one process, by some magic method. This is very similar to the idea of the two of the prominent world religions, namely Christianity and Islam. This is the idea that everyone should become a Christian, or everyone should become a Muslim. Scriptures of the particular religions publish these ideas which are absorbed by the members.
The worse thing for me are those students who feel that I should help their friends and acquaintances or who feel that I should open an organization or legislate how others should read and use my books, that I should become an official somebody in the world of gurus and spiritual teachers.
The view about saving the world is due to massive ignorance and a lack of insight into reincarnation. It shows that the people who believe in it have absolutely no understanding about the operation of the mundane evolutionary cycle. Their idea is that their deity can fix everyone in this creation by sudden abrupt elevation no matter where that person is situated in terms of evolutionary development.
Some people are of the view that all the souls are equal, that all of the souls can suddenly be transported to the world of the deity, whomever that deity may be.
This is all due to massive ignorance and a real lack of vision about reincarnation and how material nature calculates it. These ideas imaginatively inflate the power of the divine beings to make them into magic men or magic women who can by the flick of a finger elevate everyone in the material world. It is all hogwash.
