Sleep Impulse Upface ~ Gautam Buddha

This report is based on a discussion with Gautam Buddha about the sleep vritti impulse psychic mechanism which was mentioned in the Yoga Sutras by Patanjali. The last of the bothersome and spiritually corrosive applications of the mind is the sleep vritti. It is kundalini controlled. It affects the buddhi intellect orb in the head of the subtle body.

This is a universal impulse whereby at a certain time in the future, it will spread and even shut down the cosmos for a time, for a long time, trillions of years. We experience a miniscule portion of this power when we feel drowsy and then enter varying states of sleep.

When this impulse is transcended and for as long as the yogi transcends it, he may enter a state which appear to be sleep but which is different. This is called yoga nidra. In the Puranas there are tales about this yoga nidra but it is said to be a state used by the Vishnu and Shiva deities.

What exactly is this state?

I explain in the following paragraph.

In regular sleep, the first thing that happens at the onset is the lulling period. This might appear suddenly or it might come on over an extended period. During the occurrence, the objectivity of the person vanishes. The person continues existing on a psychological level but his or her objectivity defocused. It becomes inoperative where it cannot be put to use to objectify the person-self.

In yoga nidra, this does not happen, instead there is a transfer of the objective self to a higher plane of consciousness with a corresponding loss of awareness in reference to the previous plane of existence which may be resumed some time after.

Before regular sleep the person is prepared for going out of objective existence but during yoga nidra the person is prepped for coming into existence on a higher plane.

In both there is exit from one plane. Thus both sleep and yoga nidra appear similar to an observer on the plane from which the exit takes place.

The conversation with Buddha had to do with going to brahmaloka higher plane of existence. To achieve that the yogi must master yoga nidra in meditation practice on earth or he may do so in siddhaloka after leaving the physical body permanently.

The test for this accomplishment is the raising of the sense-of-identity’s interest during meditation. Does the sense-of-identity’s interest sag downwards during meditation or does it go upwards in the subtle head. If it sags downward, that means that sleep impulse pulls it down and the yogi will not go to brahmaloka.

The upface or lift of the sense-of-identity’s focus, when this happens spontaneously during meditation, means that the sleep impulse is not present. This causes the subtle body to go to a higher plane.

As an aircraft rises in the sky because of the thrust of the engines and as the same conveyance will fall through the sky because of the overwhelming force of gravity, so the yogi may go higher because of eliminating the sleep impulse or he may go downwards because of the presence of the impulse.
