Singing as Religious Process
Singing hymns, chanting holy names, voicing bhajans and similar voiceAudio practices provides relief from stress and failures. However, the assumption is that these processes can result in salvation. Even though a singer, chanter, or reciter, may not attain salvation, his/her participation may give feelings which indulge him/her into believing that eventually when the body dies, there will be sudden elevation or total salvation.
This assumption is dangerous. It may be a false guarantee in the first place. The immediate effect of transportation into expected uplifting moods and feelings, is definite but with no evidence that it will be repeated at the death of the physical body. Thus, overall, it is an unreliable process.
