Self inFocus

On the astral side, Yogeshwarananda discussed the difference between pratyahar energy retraction and dharana energy return with self-focus. He said that ultimately there must be a recall of the self’s energy which pours from it into environments and which prevents it from self-realization to know what it is and what it is supplemented with in these creations.

For pratyahar sensual energy withdrawal, the self either directly into itself or through an adjunct or a combination of adjuncts, must retract energy which courses into the environments which surround the psyche. In that case the self is not the subject and object. It is the subject that initiated the call for the retraction but the object being retracted is energy which was emitted from the self. In that case the subject and object vary with the core-retractor being the coreSelf.

However, the dharana process, the self is both the subject and object. The energy which courses outwards into environments ceases. The self remains as itself only but it relates to itself as both subject and object. The light of the self, its radiance is realized because it inFocuses on itself only. That is a dharana practice which progressed into a dhyana spontaneous focus and then progresses further into a samadhi continuous spontaneous focus. This is a core with full preoccupation with itself to realize what it is without its adjuncts.
