Same Same Same Old Story Again

A deceased friend recently came to me in the astral world, to discuss the wonder of persons who seem to have an aptitude for yoga practice and understand transmigration, but who nevertheless continue on the path of status and social friendship which is counterproductive.

This friend was recently deceased. He happen to meet another friend who was deceased for fifteen or more years ago and who resides currently in the astral world waiting for a rebirth opportunity. This other friend hangs around with persons who are deceased and with some who are using material bodies, but people whom he was friendly with before he lost his body.

The question is:

Why does a person continue with spiritually non-productive associations even after hearing about and considering reincarnation?

Why does history has to be about the same same same old story again.
