One big difference between inSelf Yoga™ and other systems of austerity, is the fact of the student faces up to what is what and does not always run away from the ugly side of reality. Sometimes it become necessary for the student to run away but that is only because the student has not progressed sufficiently to face some reality head on or because the student does not have the strength to stand up and fight.
This yoga is practical so that if a particular student does not have the resistance, I may tell him or her to run away. It is better to be a coward and run off for the time being than to be a martyr and die needlessly.
It is a live-to-fight-another-day system, where if you cannot defeat the enemy, then okay, give in to it for the time being but study it more and more as you give in. Do not be a scatter brain and give in without making a thorough study of the enemy.
If I am beaten to a pulp by the enemy it is okay. We do not have any pride so we do not have to worry about being ashamed of being beaten. But while being beaten we will take note of how the enemy fights. We will take note of our weakness and lack of proficiency.
