Omo People / Art, Magic, Intimidation

Is it magic control, art, intimidation of other tribes or potent superstition?

Question arises as to if they use psycho-active herbs or substances, because then to understand what they do one would have to take those chemicals, enter the dimensions they journey to understand their perspective and to make really valid statements about their reasons for body painting.

There is also research which should be done to see if in the past, someone in the tribe began doing this as a way to scare and intimidate other tribes, as many8 shamans do to intimidate people and to project magical powers which in primitive settings is actually a political control move.
