Need for Physical Achievement

A deceased person discussed with me, the need for physical achievement, both for the living and the dead. Even in the situations hereafter, most persons aspire for physical history. They want to get back into the world, to participate in its development. The astral situations do not fully absorb their desire energies as the physical challenges do.

This applies to yogis and non-yogis, spiritualists and those who focus only on physical reality. At final departure from the physical body, such persons are left with a remnant of their psychological selves which is not enough to please them.

The deceased persons said to me that even peace of mind seems to be ephemeral because it is not exciting. It does not inspire to action. Mostly it is the challenges of material existence, both the positive and negatives ones which are the engine which runs the self when it can identify itself as a physical person.

For success in yoga, one has to transcend this need for physicality. The satisfaction gained from it must be erased from the psyche. Some other reference must be installed in its place. Saying that one will become nothing at death or that one will merge into oneness with who knows what or that one will go to a perfect spiritual place, does not help. There is no guarantee of such aspirations but there is the natural outcome of this physical existence which is the dream world astral place. Putting aside idealism and self-assuring delusions, one should face the situation head on and carefully review one’s dreams and the psychic landscape in which they occur during every sleeping session.
