Michael Beloved ~ Crazy Art/Viewpoint

Over the years since I began doing illustrations for my books around 1975, the situation arose whereby I was not confirming to the laws of light and shadow as dictated to us by sunlight, moonlight, firelight and electricity. At first when I used to do illustrations of subtle bodies, Sir Paul Castagna brought it to my attention that I was a non-conformist. He wanted to be sure that I was drawing what I saw and not deliberately distorting what was seen. When he realized that I was saw something other than what is physical and that my sense of light and shadow was in opposition to the usual laws on the physical plane, he relaxed his concerns. The worried look on his face disappeared.

Being that Sir Paul’s mother was a professional artist and he studied the works of the great European masters of painting from the Renaissance Period, he was an expert on the subject and wanted to both help me with my art renditions as well as illustrate some of my work.

Recently another artist brought it to my attention that my art was off. One piece which has done with modern software where the texture of subtle energy was shown, was mistaken by this artist as being pixelated. This is because this artist did not que into to the fact that the work was done with a texture deliberately, just to show what subtle energy appears to be in the subtle world using other than physical senses.

This contention however will continue but it brings to fore a more serious issue which is that any student who remains referenced to the physical existence is a failure in the yoga process. The teacher of such a student may as well realize that beyond the physical that student has no footing. He or she despite all the practice, and all the reading of related text, has not transferred interest to the subtle world and remains with the physical world as the ultimate reference.

It means that the teachings and the practice are not having the deep impact which is desired. That is to be regretted!

Some students remain with the physical reference because they like to argue about different ideas and conceptions just for argument sake but they pass this off on themselves and on the teacher as a sincere interest. They have no intention of breaking off from the physical as reference but they exhibit a pretense about that so that they can keep the association of the teacher and not be deprived of advanced techniques.

Some other students use the present life only as the reference. No matter how much it is explained that the present life cannot be the reference they continue with that on and on in conversations and in thinking in relation to the teacher. This stubborn attitude is messy to say the least. It ruptures the efforts of the teacher and cause his or her teaching failure.

When Sir Paul Castagna used to have troubled looks about the way I rendered light and shadow on objects, I clarified to him that in the subtle world, many objects have lights within the objects themselves whereby there is no sun or moon to render light to reveal the objects. The objects are lit from within by lights which are translucent and which radiate outward from the object. There is no reliance a light source like the sun or moon because those forms are not opaque. All the forms there may walk through or cross through other forms, being interspaced without conflict of their mass. After understanding this, Sir Paul clicked mentally to some experiences he had while using LSD. Thereafter he began to make sense of those LSD experiences.

After that instead of using the physical to judge those experiences, he considered those experiences as a reality unto itself which should be considered on the basis of its own reference and not to be tallied back to the physical.

A similar adjustment should be made in reference to judging the value of anything in that what happens in this life is not the cause of or the motivation force for what is happening right now. Everything is hitched back to previous lives and unless one tallies the past history, every opinion one has is incorrect.

The problem however is that the satisfaction one gets from the present life tally is so enjoyable in the mind, that the student may be reluctant to abandon that this life approach, especially if doing so will leave the student with nothing due to a lack of being able to access past lives.
