Krishna Blue

The blue on this peacock is the hue of the blue of Krishna’s transcendental self. In that case his self is his body, as contrasted to our situation where the self functions within the restrictions of a physical and/or subtle body.

To see this color elsewhere, one may observe a field of flax plants (atasi) when they are in bloom. That has this same intense blue tone.

Krishna’s self emanates sheer bliss of the highest possible pleasure. One is drawn to him if one sees him, just as planets orbit and are ultimately drawn into a sun, or as modern astronomer describe the fate of whatever is near to a black hole. This attraction is from self to self with self remaining self and not losing its individuality.
