inSelf Yoga Teaching

inSelf Yoga teaching is concerned not with teaching anyone as a primary focus. Anyone who says that he or she is teaching this as a primary focus is not following this teaching. Instead that person is trying to satisfy an inner urge to share or to influence others. Some of us are unable to proceed with spiritual disciplines unless we feel that the whole world will be following along as we proceed. Still, even though this is a natural and in some cases, a very impulsive feeling, it is not part of this yoga process.

The primary interest for this, even for those who are teaching, even for me, the person who at this time is the primary agent currently, is to practice this for self-development. As for teaching, my main way of doing that is to leave a history of what I practiced, as to the success or failure, limit or range of teaching. The teaching method therefore, is to practice and to explain or show what the practice did.

Others can then freely use the practice if they determine that it may help in their spiritual objectives. It is not that the practice is absolute or that it is the only practice but it is the only practice of that person who explained what he or she did and what result he or she experienced from it. It is limited to that. The obligation to teach ends there. People must be free to use a practice or to reject it. A valid practice for one person, does not have to work for every other person.

A teacher should not be obsessed with making his practice be a standard for every person. He should not feel that every other human being has to do what he does. He should not think that there is no other valid method. His focus should be on his practice and its success or failure in his psyche. He should be happy to see others practicing other methods and should even listen to their stories about their failure or success with such processes.
