Food After Death

A friend who is recently deceased within the last ten years, visited me. He inquired about ceasing the need for physical food and for sexual intercourse with a physical partner.

As it is for him at this time, he is on the astral side fulltime but he associated with a partner who was his sexual mate just before he left the physical body. As he is on the psychic side of existence full time, he has some mystic powers where he can know what is on someone’s mind and also know what a person accomplished as a display of resistance to physical rebirth.

After observing that my subtle body developed some resistance to rebirth, he decided to question about how to acquire the resistance in his subtle form. Since I am both physical and psychic at this time because I still use a physical body, he wondered if my partial resistance to rebirth would cancel my remaining inclination for rebirth.

It is a good inquiry. How do we know if a partially liberated yogi would suddenly be liberated at the death of his body? Should we assume that this will happen? Is that assumption valid? Is it wishful thinking and belief only? The resistance to the need for physical food is a separate achievement to the resistance to sexual indulgence with physical persons after death. The two of these are related but still they are separate achievements.

People who are deceased frequently visit their living relatives and eat some of the food those living persons eat. The deceased ones also take part in other psychic activities like sexual intercourse with their living friends.

Resistance to the need for physical food is related to nutrition of the subtle body. While resistance to physical sexual indulgence is split into two parts.

  • need for reproduction
  • need for sexual pleasure.

A question arises as to why the subtle body which is a psychic object, would need physical food, physical reproduction and physical sexual pleasure?

If the subtle body is a reality until itself, the way the physical system is a body onto itself, why would the subtle body need to get nourishment from the physical system?

Why would the subtle body want to reproduce physical forms?

Why would the subtle body need physical pleasure from sexual intercourse?

These are puzzling questions?

I gave some answers to my friend. I said this:

A yogi should master the 4th stage of yoga, that of pranayama breath infusion so that the subtle body changes so that it is satisfied with taking in subtle air for nutrients. While the physical body lives, the subtle form uses that physical form to take in physical air and physical food. The subtle body should increase reliance on physical air and decrease the reliance of physical food. Then when this is developed, the subtle body will desire only subtle air. It can increase its subtle air intake by using the inner and surface pores of the subtle body.

As for the need for physical reproduction, the subtle body can be changed so that it does not need to be in the parenting format where one assumes the-origin-of-others mentality as a parent.

As for the need for physical sexual intercourse, the subtle body can be changed so that it is satisfied with subtle sexual indulgence or alternately no physical or subtle sexual indulgence. Pleasure can be acquired in the subtle body from other parts of the form where the genitals no longer have a bonus value because those other parts give the same pleasure as the genitals normally render in a physical body.
