Dying and Meeting Old Friends

Last night I was given another rap on the knuckles about the upcoming death of the present body, when five persons from the teen years of this body, were suddenly with me in the astral world. These five were friends of mine in Trinidad some years ago. They were sisters and brothers in a family living next door. Two were males with whom I used to hang out. The three females their sisters I did not have much of a relationship with but during the astral encounter it seems that they were more friendly with me than the two male friends.

All of a sudden the females were acting as if I was their personal boyfriend during those teen years, which means that their subtle bodies had somehow advanced the relationship to boyfriend stage. The subtle body can be a pain-in-the-neck and stab-in-the-back in terms of how it processes and even advances emotional energy. A yogi has to be careful.

One of these three females, the one who was the most indifferent and snobbish, was the one who was the most pushy with the boyfriend-girlfriend feelings. Without her knowledge I checked in her psyche to see how that emotion evolved even in my absence for some 40+ years. This person began to claim me as her very own. I played along with the whole thing in wonder checking to see how her psyche had moved its emotional content into that sexual affection.

Luckily as fate would have it, these persons got in touch with me about 30 minutes before my alarm clock ran for doing the early morning exercises. Since they knew that I did yoga even then years ago, I told them that I had to do my exercises. They all followed my subtle body with my physical body to the place in a backyard in Shreveport Louisiana where I am currently staying.

They all began to do whatever I was doing even though they have never done these exercises. Thirty-five or so years ago when they saw me doing these exercises, they considered it to be weird but now they were thinking that I may have known what I was doing. The three females were especially interested when their skin began to tighten as they did the rapid breathing.

The one who was claiming me as your special boyfriend earlier when I was just on the astral side alone with them, flexed her breasts forward to show that her breast had firmed up due to some rapid breathing. The other two sisters looked at her in amazement since they were also breathing but did not experience the same degree of effects from it.

After this the two brothers came forward. One used to read books about bhakti yoga and he did not take postures and breathe infusion to be anything, since he read the books of a teacher who said that love of God could grant everything. He began to complain, “I am not so sure about this bhakti yoga path now. It has not given me the promised results.”

I did not comment. Little did he know that bhakti is not bhakti yoga and bhakti which is impure affection energy cannot give one the results of bhakti which is pure affection energy.

They wanted to talk about the prospects of us staying together and taking bodies in the same family or same area and country but I expressed a subtle force to suppress the conversation.

Friends are friends but yogis are also yogis and serious yogis have no use for friends after leaving the body because they have to switch to association with siddhas. I just did not get into a conversation because their disappointment would be too much to bear. After this their astral forms disappeared which meant that they were pulled back into their physical bodies.

Dreaming of old friends, of family reunions or class reunions and similar occurrences are not necessarily a portend of death.

In the Srimad Bhagavatam there is a story about Kamsa ruler in Mathura India during the infancy of Krishna. Kamsa saw various signs about his death. I have borrowed Srila Bhaktivedanta’s translated English of that tale. Here it is:

Kamsa began to see various kinds of inauspicious signs, both awake and dreaming. When he looked in the mirror he could not see his head, although the head was actually present. He could see the luminaries in the sky in double, although there was only one set factually. He began to see holes in his shadow, and he could hear a high buzzing sound within his ears. All the trees before him appeared to be made of gold, and he could not see his own footprints in dust or muddy clay. In dream he saw various kinds of ghosts being carried in a carriage drawn by donkeys. He also dreamed that someone gave him poison, and he was drinking it. He dreamed also that he was going naked with a garland of flowers and was smearing oil all over his body. Thus, as Kamsa saw various signs of death both awake and sleeping, he could understand that death was certain, and thus in great anxiety he could not rest that night.

As above Kansa was seeing doubles literally. His vision shifted frequency to the ghost realms and so when he would look in a mirror instead of seeing through his physical eyes only, his vision energy was passing through his ghost body.

He even began to hear naad sound as a loud buzzing in his ear. Because he was transferred already to the hereafter, even though he still had a physical body, he began to see no footprints which are the way the astral body registers in the psychic world. Even though he was a king who rode horses, he saw himself ridding donkeys which were the conveyance of slaves and serfs.

Someone gave him poison and even though he knew what it was he willingly drank it since fate took over his life fully and fate had decided that he was no longer an actor in the history of the earth.

Even though he was an avowed atheist, Kamsa came to understand by all this that his death was near. The whole under base of confidence which he had in life, his political skill, his efficient protection system against enemies, all seem to be absent, as if some powerful agency had erased that out of the earth’s continuously created history.

But the same dreams by someone else might have a different meaning. If someone dreams about meeting of friends, it would be a portent only if those friends were all thinking of meeting together again in the next life and only if they were considering that they were about to leave their bodies. In my case that under basis was present. All the individuals whom I met were considering their impending deaths and were thinking of the preferred birth environment of the next body.

Thus to know what the dream means you have to tap into the underlying motive for the meeting. Meeting just to meet to associate without an underlying sentiment regarding having aged bodies, has another meaning. But you can check on it, by carefully going back over the details of those astral encounters and seeking out the underlying motive of the meetings.

In my case, I always thought of leaving the body suddenly. I was considering this since my teen years. In fact part of the impetus to do yoga comes from this continuous facing up to the fact that I will have to leave the body, regardless of whether I desire to do so or not.

As far as I am concerned death was stalking this body from its inception and it is still stalking this body even today. Even though the kundalini has managed to deprive death of its prize for some 60 years, eventually death will strike kundalini once and for all, and the body will be finished. With this in mind I was always paying attention to my spiritual practice and urging others to do likewise.

Now some of these persons are finding me in the astral world with intentions for me to again review what death is, to speak of it and explain it and perhaps to give them something with which they can outmaneuver death, either to remain in the physical form forever, or to just leave the body without any pain or disease or incapacity and to transit to a pleasurable astral world.

Of course I cannot help anyone with this if the person has not developed an effective yoga practice before hand.

What would happen to a person after death who has effectively practiced yoga?  Can the person continue and progress in yoga in the astral world, with the techniques he has practiced in the physical world, or will he be forcefully fated to take a new birth immediately after death? How long will the person be able to stay in the astral world?

If you hear the term siddha aptly applied to a yogi who uses a physical body, that person should continue their practice and perfect it in the astral world after leaving the physical body. Some siddhas go to a supernatural or spiritual world after death which is far beyond the adjacent and lower astral places. These persons do not have to continue their practice since their practice was completed before leaving the last physical body.

To continue the practice of yoga after leaving a physical body, the subtle body which transits to the hereafter would have to have a strong yoga habit. The whole system of transiting from a physical body is counterproductive towards continued yoga practice in the astral world, because as it is, the natural system is that the yogi is offered pleasures in the astral world, pleasure which he or she can hardly refuse.

Once the yogi is lured into such indulgence, the habit of practice becomes muffled and the tendency to want to be liberated gets squashed. The yogi enjoys the offered pleasures and then just finds the self in an adjacent parallel dimension seeking out a body, seeking out a couple who are on the verse of having sex.

That attraction acts like a vacuum pump to suck the yogi’s psyche into the body of the future father or mother and then the whole system of developing an embryo takes place. The yogi forgets about his or her practice and comes out being pushed out of the mother’s body, crying and screaming as a little infant.

End of story.

How long will the person be able to stay in the astral world?

By the grace of Krishna, we were given a little talk called the Anu Gita, which was a quick conversation when Krishna brushed aside Arjuna’s request for a repeat of the Bhagavad Gita discourse including the fantastic apparitions of the Universal From and the Fourhanded Divine God Form. In that discourse this issue is raised about how long a person stays in the astral world. Basically a siddha, who knew the inside scoop on this, said that one stays there for as long as one has effect-energies which could be manifested there.

So what are these effect-energies? These are acts which were committed during the past earthly life, acts which were either socially beneficial to one and all or downright criminal. In either case, one goes to an astral heaven or astral hellish place, and enjoys or suffers proportionately and then one finds oneself in the realm of a sort of purgatory, waiting for the next body opportunity. A yogi who was a good guy, a sort of social nice-guy, would stay for a longer time in the astral heavens than one who was antisocial and isolationist. A yogi, who was cruel to others for the most part, will spend some time in astral hellish places. It would vary from yogi to yogi. And then that person would find the self to be in a parallel world from which people in the hereafter make their application and wait for entering would-be parents.

To get the direct information try to read the book Anu Gita Explained. There is also some inside information in my one personal gift to all students which is the book sex you!, a book people think is about sex but which is about reincarnation and how it is related to sex.

Basically speaking if you want to not take another body immediately after leaving your present physical system, you can out stride nature and achieve your aim if you develop resistance to heavenly sex life. The one thing that guarantees another haphazard body for good people is their compelling attraction to heavenly sex. Once you get sucked into that after leavening the body, you are done for in relation to staying out of rebirth.

But it is not a matter of determination. It is a matter of the tendencies in the subtle form. If the subtle form has tendencies to enjoy heavenly sex, then the whole yoga scheme is all but over. Therefore the key is to change the tendencies of the subtle body. Making up your mind to resist sex or to stop it has nothing to do with this, because the subtle body is not concerned with your execution of a will power act. It ignores such inhibitions and moralities and goes ahead with its desires regardless.

The subtle body in the astral world after death works by impulses not by mental determination, plans, philosophies, samadhi gimmicks, imaginative states and the like. Thus unless the yogi can change its tendencies before death of the physical form, he or she will not be able to affect its behavior later on in the afterlife. And to sum this up, it means haphazard rebirth by being attracted to a couple having sex on earth. What begins as that attraction for a yogi will end as the reality of becoming aware of the self as a crying baby. And then the whole cycle which is called samsara begins all over again.
