Development of Supernatural Perception

The scattered energy which is forward in the head of the subtle body, while the core-self adheres to the naad sound is resistant to collection and uniformness. In the material world there is endless mundane energy. Take the sun rays for example. At every second there are so many of these rays that the human race could not use them all if we were to somehow trap the energy. And still despite this abundance, we are still in need of energy, because nature constructed this situation in such a way that we cannot harness the energy except with difficult.
There is also the joke in the form of the two main oceans, the Pacific and Atlantic, where these are salt instead of fresh water, making it possible for some of us to make fresh water into a resource which we can sell to those who are not in the exploitive position.
There is energy everywhere. The problem is how to harness it, how to collect it and put it to use. Nature, both the physical and psychic, has its way of collecting, dispersing and organizing energy for its own purposes. The body we use is an example of nature’s expertise in this regard.
Imagine if you have an idea for a certain type of house. You describe your needs to an architect. Then this person creates a blueprint and organizes the construction of the building. When it is completed, you realize that the architect understood what you described to him.
Material nature like an architect has both physical and psychic construction ability. It creates a subtle body and a material body. But how does nature do this?
To understand what nature does, one must first admit that one does not know a thing about drawing blueprints or constructing buildings. It is nature’s skill. We can learn from nature by observation, just as we can learn from the architect if he permits us to observe him in the draft room and on the construction site. Otherwise we will remain with the ignorance and conception, which the architect heard of and which he used to construct the blueprint and building.
In meditation when one adheres to naad sound, and then when one sends an interest forward, one will detect some random energy. Srila Yogeshwarananda said that the next stop is to gather these energies and pull them back near to the core-self. From this he claims there will develop supernatural perception of other-than physical, other than-base-subtle objects.
There is a related verse from the Yoga Sutras which mentions supernatural and spiritual objects which are a cause of elevation for the yogi, as contrasted to natural objects which demotes the consciousness of the yogi.

Yoga Sutra : chapter 1 verse 35
विषयवती वा प्रवृत्तिरुत्पन्ना मनसः स्थितिनिबन्धिनी॥३५॥
viṣayavatī vā pravṛttiḥ utpannā
manasaḥ sthiti nibandhanī
Or fusion and steadiness of the mind is produced by the operation of the mento-emotional energy towards an object which is different to but similar to a normal thing;

Supernatural and spiritual objects are similar to physical and lower astral level objects, because these are all objects but due to the quality difference, the supernatural objects are pursued by the yogi and these do not lower him.
