Core-Self Isolation / Lahiri Baba

On Oct 2, 2015, I was given a diagram to present. This is a diagram about where the students should meditate as the core-self during meditation. It is compliant with the second sutra of Patanjali about yogah cittavritti nirodhah, the shutting down of the mento-emotional operations which are convention for the human psyche.

Soon after Lahiri Baba appeared and left, a friend who is in the spiritual lineage of Lahiri and who is now deceased, appeared. Somehow he knew that Lahiri spoke to me just moments before. This deceased friend smiled and said this:

“We got that kriya from our guruji today as well, a group of us who were meditating with him. I had the feeling that our guruji got it from his guruji but I could not see the senior guruji. I had this feeling to come to you about this and when I transited here, I had an intuition that the elder guruji had just left the kriya with you.”

Somehow this deceased friend is of the persuasion that if he could see Lahiri Baba directly, things would brighten up for him, that this would mean something special. However the fact is that seeing these authorities indicate two special aspects. One is having the spiritual perception to perceive their super-subtle or supernatural forms or even when they are not using forms which have a conventional or expected shape. The second aspect is that usually these persons come to give instructions which form a burden for the person invested by them because then that person is under an obligation to practice those disciplines or procedures.

There is hardly a case of these gurus coming to visit someone because of wanting to be with that person, or because that person is special. They do not act whimsically like that. Many of these masters must also protect themselves from negative feedback and from yogi-suppression energies which come from many students. In the medical field no one would agree to be treated by a physician who contacted a deadly disease because he or she was careless by mixing whimsically or socially with patients. Even advanced gurus must protect themselves from run-in energies which come out the psyche of yoga students who are still hoping back and forth between material existence and spiritual realization. As great a person as Jesus Christ was affected by energy drainage when a woman touched his clothing while he was in a crowd.

Does such energy only travel in one direction?

Or is the lower energy from the needy person also enter as the grace energy travels from the master?

Can the teacher in all cases rid himself or herself of the lower force?

A more serious concern is that if such advanced masters were to be at the beck and call of students, then we would have to ask ourselves if they were advanced in fact and if they have authorities over them to whom they are responsible.
