Control of Fate

The inSelf Yoga process has for part of it the understanding of the operations of fate. It does not have any part which concerns control of fate. This is because a limited being cannot at any stage control universal energy. When fate seems to do what is desired, we must understand that it is only our perspective because it is not into fate’s habit to complying with puny willpowers.

Even if fate complies, or if we feel that is compliant, a yogi should understand that this is just his arrogant perspective. Supposes there is a twig floating in a river. The twig desired to be cast ashore at a specific place on the river bank. Does it mean that if it is beached there, the river was concerned with twig’s desire?

Only a crazy twig will form that sort of conclusion. But it may be that we are all crazy where we are programmed from day one to feel that anything which goes to our favor is the compliance of fate to our desire.

Suppose on the other hand, a twig is beached at some place along the river bank which the twig just detests, is it a fact that the river went to the trouble of throwing that twig to that unwanted place? Obviously any twig that thinks that it was purposely rejected is not in its right mind and is schizophrenic.

We have ourselves to review. We should also review the influences which we absorb from those who feel that their mission is to control fate, to make fate compliant with their desires.
