Chit Akash Access

It is a big achievement when a yogi can gain access to the chit akash sky of consciousness on a consistent and regular basis. Samadhi is required for that but it could be for some seconds, say for 3 seconds or even less. It would be wonderful to gain access for hours but that is hardly likely in our present humbug state of mind.

While currently we are living in a situation which is a mix of spiritual and material energies, the chit akash sky of consciousness is all spiritual energy without any gross or psychic (subtle) material energy.

There are no upsets in that place. There is no energy which is traumatic.

I am working with Srila Yogeshwarananda to discover a method which could work with at this time in history. There are descriptions of what yogis did in the past to reach the sky of consciousness but if those methods do not work today or if modern yogis just cannot practice in the same way as the ancients, then some other method should be developed.

It has to be a technique that works not something that is given which is hype all the way which gives hope and false expectations and nothing else.

Srila Yogesh gave a method, which on testing, worked. However even though I will divulge it, I cannot for sure that it will be a success for everyone. There is also the factor that I have no tested this for a sufficient number of times. The value of it however is that a yogi who is involved in social life, who is not isolated fully can use this method and cull out access to the chit akash sky of consciousness even though he is not fully isolated. This is a major breakthrough because for most of the ascetics the situation is that they cannot at this time be in full isolation.

Here is the requirement for this to be experienced:

·       Do bhastrika/kapalabhati breath infusion. Be sure to fully draw out all the apana negative gases which can be extracted through the lungs. Make sure you reach all parts of the body with the infused energy. As soon as you completed a thorough session sit to meditate.

·       In the meditation make a check to see the condition of the infused energy. Soon after this make contact with naad sound resonance. Get fully involved in naad sound resonance. Begin to bathe in it. Let it saturate the core-self fully.

·       As soon as you are confidence you are saturated in naad sound response, you should realize the location of the core-self as being in the back side of the subtle head. Reach forward by moving your some (not all) of your interest to the front of the head. When you do this, there will be two levels, the one on top should be avoided, use the one below which will be a glow light or a mist light. This light will be like scattered energy.

·       Take this scattered energy. Collect it as a form of nourishment. Srila Yogesh calls this jyotisamāhāra (ज्योतिसमाहार) or the collection of transcendental light.

·       The collection process begins by observing the light which will be a scattered or bunch lights which is like a mist or glow. The yogi will gather this and pull it to the core-self so that it feels as if the core-self feeds on this light, like a baleen whale siphoning and feeding on microscopic sea creatures.

·       The yogi should switch back and forth; feeling on light and then feeding on naad sound resonance. He should be confident that just as there is the transcendental sound of naad there is the jyoti transcendental light.

·       Do this repeatedly during the meditation. If you can do not allow the mind to drift to anything else. If it does drift re-situate your attention to naad and then to the jyoti lights.

·       Do this practice on and on. Eventually when this is done, there will appear an opening to the chit-akash. That experience will happen as if you are in a cloud of dense energy, an opaque mental cloud. You cannot see through this cloud but suddenly somewhere ahead of your perception, the cloud will part and there will be an opening so that you can see objects in another dimension through that opening. This will last for seconds but it will be definite and conclusive.

·       After having this experience again and again now and then in the meditation on naad sound resonance and jyotisamāhāra collection of subtle light there will be a feeling of control of being able to direct the focus through the opening and move it around in that other dimension. This power to hold and direct the focus comes from long meditation sessions where the yogi struggled to control the mind and gradually got it to be responsive.

Jyotisamāhāra is actually the collection of chit akash energy. This energy penetrates through the material world and it can be filtered out and collected by a yogi who meditates enough and abolishes lower levels of consciousness during meditation.

Srila Yogeshwarananda said that even though one does not have the direct perception, one must penetrate to the spiritual energy from the present condition, from inside the mind. Since spiritual light penetrates the material energy, one can collect that spiritual light, feed it to the self, and cause the self to be elevated to a higher level so that it can gain access to the chit akash sky of consciousness.

Special Remark:

When there is penetration through the cloudlike energy which surrounds the mind space, some of the perception will be of the material energy. In some experiences the yogi will reach other physical and astral dimensions. The objective is to be able to move and direct the focus. Just as with physical perception a newborn infant cannot focus its eye and may even see everything in a blur. So initially the yogi might struggle with a focus which he cannot direct and control. But if there is a repeated meditation where this unfocused access is given, over time it will convert into focused access just as in the case of an infant who begins to direct the vision through the eyes to different objects in different locations.
