Base Chakra When Sitting to Meditate

When sitting to meditate and using either the easy pose or the full lotus posture, be sure to check that the anus lock is applied and then released.

What is this?

This does not mean that you hold the lock while you sit to meditate. You should not do that because then your attention will be on the lock in part and the meditation will be fragmented. But you are required to set the anus chakra in a relaxed lock posture.

It is the fact that when you sit like this usually the anus lock is totally relaxed, so that the energy of it is facing onward and is outward going which makes energy lead through the base chakra.

To change this, just as you sit, get in the habit of rising slightly to one side and pulling in the lock and then with the body balanced on the sitting place, relax the lock. This action of pulling in the lock will reset the anus configuration so that it does not leak energy. Instead of the two halves of the buttocks being split apart and spread apart, these two halves will be curved inwards, and will relax in that curved-inwards position.

At the time of death, the last place you would want kundalini to leave the physical system is through the base chakra. This is no-no for yogis. A little practice now with just a little care and attention could do wonderful things in the progress of a yogi.
