Base Chakra Stimulation

This posture was shown by Yogeshwarananda on the astral side of existence. This causes the yogi to focus on and upgrade the base chakra in the subtle body. A yogi should stay in this posture for at least five minutes. It demands intense inner concentration and balance of the weight of the physical body against the earth centering force of gravity.

This is an advanced posture and is not recommended for beginners. At least one should master naad sound resonance absorption before doing this posture. It is considered to be an advanced practice in the first steps to higher yoga.

There is no need to do this in a beginner’s practice because the focus is on the base chakra, muladhara. A beginner cannot focus there. Eyes are closed to intensify the focus while doing this.
