Analytical Orb Light Distribution

The buddhi analytical orb, known otherwise as the intellect of a human being, is a psychic computer-like organ in the head of the subtle body. The particular word used for this in ancient Indian (India) yoga texts is buddhi but there are other terms, like jnana-dipa, jnana-dipena, jnana chakshu, drishta, antah-karana, manas, dhi (dhee), dhishan, mati, samiksha.

Antah karana is actually the whole subtle head with adjuncts within it, but when the kundalini is evacuated from the spine and moved into the subtle head. Thus antah karana means buddhi + other adjuncts + the observing core-self, rather than buddhi alone

Manas has the common meaning as mind which is the head of the subtle body without the kundalini in the head but with the kundalini remaining in the spine at muladhara base chakra. Manas is used with other meanings on occasion according to the intention of the writer or speaker.

The problem with the buddhi intellect orb is that it comes packed in the psyche of the person at the onset in a disordered way, in a way where the core-self is hypnotized by the displays presented by the orb and where the core-self is induced repeatedly to support the decisions made by the orb. People usually say that we make decisions but in fact decisions are made by the orb in conjunction with the kundalini lifeforce and the core-self is induced willingly or unwillingly, consciously or subconsciously to supply energy to support the execution of the decisions.

The problem with the analytical orb is that it is hell-bent on processing external information. Even if it internalizes such information, it uses that knowledge to further promote external interest. This means information about external physical and external psychic phenomena.

~~~~~~~
And what is wrong with this natural process?
It is defective in terms of wanting to understand what the psyche is and how it is constructed. If the person wants to find out about the composition of the psyche, if the person wants to sort the components, he or she will have to use the same intellect but if it does not cooperate then the person will be unable to make the research introspectively.
It is therefore necessary to find some way to stop the analytical orb from its external physical and psychic pursuits. This process of internalization of this organ is called pratyahar (prut-yaa-haar) in Sanskrit. It means to squelch the normal operation of this organ once and for all.
This analytic orb is a light which shine forward through the forehead of the subtle body. It normally shines outward. We get some idea about it when a human being tries to focus mentally and knits the eyebrows. That knitting action though purely physical has a psychic counterpart to it, where the buddhi light is focused sharply outwards from the body into the environment.
Pratyahar is a contrary process, something which is against the grain of how the system was set up in the first place. Pratyahar means to turn this light about and shine it only within the psyche or subtle body, with none of it coming outwards.
Initially this impossible to do because the orb simply does not cooperate with any plan for its alteration. It refuses to obey visualization commands in most cases and it may execute such commands but only momentarily, not consistently. Thus initially the student strives to shut down this orb or to turn off the light which shines from it.
There is also a preliminary action of pulling back into the subtle head all the rays of energy which protrude from this orb and which pass through the skull of the subtle body into the environment. This process is explained in detail in the Meditation Pictorial and the Core-Self Discovery books.
One has to turn this light so that it shines towards the back of the head, and so that it shines through the subtle body to the toes even and so that it does not cross outside the membrane of the subtle body to pursue anything outside of the subtle form. This is a mind-my-own-business practice.
In the diagram below you will see an advanced process of using this light which is to shine it down though the subtle body and not allow it go outside of the subtle body.
