Yogis who are serious and who have the power to resist the astral facilities, but who must remain on those levels for one reason or the other, hide out there, do very little social participation and practice the austerities through which they will ultimately graduate from those regions and go to higher places.

Let us answer the question in terms of the physical level and apply our understanding of that to the astral planes. For yogis on the physical level: Are they doing what other non-yogis are doing on the physical plane?

After seeing a sick man on the physical level, humanity took many thousands of years and then came to the accomplishment of building hospitals, but Buddha, a yogi renounced a comfortable life in a royal family and went to forest to deprive himself of luxuries.

After seeing a dead man, humanity after thousands of years built a funeral parlor, a casket and cemetery, but Buddha simply went into isolation and began to pry into the cause of death.

After seeing a renunciant who was unwilling to participate in social living, humanity set up a psychiatric clinic to re-orient disillusioned people to society, but Buddha suspected that there was some other reality which attracted the renunciant and he went to investigate about this by mystic means.

The yogis whom I see on the astral planes are not interested in those levels, no more than a yogi who has a material body is interested in the social advantages of civilization. They are on the astral planes either because they have to be there or because they were assigned that as their residence for the purpose of being available to students who need their teachings and methods.

As I spend most of my time in the physical world with a disinterest in social life, so they also spend most of their time in the astral world with a disinterest in the astral social societies.

The specific astral place which is desirable for yogis is the siddha loka places. These are astral planets where everyone living there, is interested and practices yoga. All other of the astral places are undesirable to a yogi.
