I worked with this in this morning meditation and the skin/touch energy seems overall to be drawn fairly well into naad..taste and smell are more challenging for me to get in there.

I look forward to hearing which of our organs is more focalized to touch than the skin..

Naad focus as described in the original post is a very advanced procedure. I admire your courage to take this on. Keep reporting on your progress. It is true though that the skin touch feature is allied with and is similar to and can be unified with the taste feature.

I investigated this and can confirm your conclusion that the touch feature is fundamental to the taste feature.

There is every chance that you might become a great yogini. The aptitude is there.

Initially it is concerned with shutting down the sense organs. That is the initial objective but once the sense organs are totally shut down and have given up their independent operations, then another practice begins which is their reinstatement as slaves of the core-self.

At first a student begins with the core-self being the slave of the senses, but as soon as the revolution is complete, and the core-self has broken the chains of slavery, then it has to get the senses in order as obedient willing servants  and it has to direct them.

There have been people - and this has been documented before - that were able to smell with the ears, hear with the eyes, see with the nose, etc, thus the 5 physical organs of action (Karmendriyas) although differentiated at the physical level (Sthula Sarira or gross body), must have a common cause for this to be able to occur, an undifferentiated common cause.

The 5 organs of sense have 5 objects of sense, called Tanmatras. These 5 objects of sense are: sound, touch, form, taste, and odor or smell.

In the Astral Body (Linga Sarira) the counterparts of the Karmendriyas are the Jnanendriyas (organs of sense) that do the smelling, tasting, seeing, touching and hearing.

Thus, I imagine that to bring all 5 into Naad could happen if the yogi enters the Pancha Tattva or 5 causes of his/her creation in the Causal Body and tansverses back into the support of them, which is Om or Naad, which is the origin of creation.
