Sharon N. Daugherty, ITIL CSMCMuslims worship God as stipulated by God. Muhammad was a teacher and example, just as Christ for Christians and Buddha for Buddhists. We do not convert anyone we meet along the way; like other faiths, we share information that is asked of us and welcome anyone who seeks the path of Islam. I have great respect for all faiths and feel that you can learn from many sources; but I think it is important to be accurate in our descriptions and not be influenced by popular culture’s assessment from the outside.
Michael BelovedSharon Nicole Daugherty, I appreciate your interest in the post. But you are speaking for a group of Muslims and not all Muslims. The history of Islam and the conquest of many of its leaders are part of the Islamic history, just as the crusades and colonial dominance is a part of a Christian history. If you include the negative aspect of Islamic history and conquest (even of India), I could buy into your views. Otherwise it seems to me that you are displaying one side of a coin and hiding the flip side because it is unpleasant and uncomfortable. Thanks again for your response!
