How would you describe the differences in perception as they transition from the "sense of identity" to the "core self" to the "spiritual body"?
Sense of identity comes into play if there is any initiative or attempt to use or act for anything pertaining to the physical or psychic reality which is all-surrounding. These attempts are psychological split-second acts which are for the most part involuntary and spontaneous. Most of these are faster than one can know or determine.
In addition, because the sense of identity is fused to the coreSelf, that self can rarely realize itself as being different to the sense of identity. Modern science has shown that the human eye sees at a certain frame-rate, which is that it takes snapshots of images at a certain speed sporadically. And yet, we humans do not see how that is taking place directly. We rely on scientific instruments to prove or disprove this. We do not ordinarily perceive this frame-rate photo-taking which happens through our nervous system.
Here in this world, there is no direct perception though the spiritual body. The perception through the coreSelf is blank as well. But in some meditations, there is perception through the core or through its instantaneous rapid development as a spiritual body with spiritual limbs and senses. In such revelations, one finds oneself using the core directly or using it as it would develop if it could turn to use the spiritual side of life.
An example could be that an infant has no physical vision while it develops in the mother’s system but then it has very little vision when it is first delivered into the physical world as a separate body system. But then some days after it find itself seeing distinct forms. How is that? The answer would help us to understand the development of spiritual body which occurs in split-seconds, instead of days after, totally fuses over to the spiritual side.
And how would the meditator recognize these subtle shifts?
By honoring Patanjali’s requirement for yoga, the cessation of chittavritti, over time, over a long time, one develops the know how to do this. The infant just accepts that he/she sees. It is similar to that.
